    "Great scientific analysis "

    Really liked the thorough analysis this book goes through - most books about obesity have 1 chapter background then 20 on why they have the magic solution. This is 20 chapters of explanation of the challenges of obesity and a short guide to how to implement simple changes to fight this disease.

    Very informative book for those looking for weight loss and lifestyle change though if you've read similar books you may find the level of detail excruciating. I found the narrator's accent slightly irritating though and he mispronounced some words but was otherwise entertaining.

    The best book on obesity ever. Clear and concise and scientific. Makes so much sense. I think the insulin story is the best part. Only trouble is that 70% of insulin secretion is genetically determined and only 30% is under our control :-( Would be nice to be able to access the forward by Tim Noakes and the tables on fasting which are inaccessible on the audio book.

    This book is brilliant, it offers all the scientific backup and research studies that you would expect if you’re asked to buy into a certain view and is described in an easy to understand format.
    I’m a Personal Trainer and it has helped to reinforce my understanding of how the body processes food. It gives a well rounded holistic view and I can’t recommend it highly enough!

    Almost all of this book is dedicated to telling you why you are fat and only the final couple of chapters tell you what to do about it. I’m a fan of Dr Fung but most of what you will learn here you can find on YouTube.

    It is fine for those that suffer obesity however for the rest of us who just want to know how to eat healthier, diet correctly, with maybe a bit of science behind it, this this not really my cup of tea. It’s received loads of great reviews and maybe it is really good as I only listened to the first hour before deleting and requesting a refund.
    I suppose you can’t please everyone though. Im reverting back to Mike Matthews.

    Jason has some great observations about our eating habits and how they get bad. Ultimately he recommends fasting, having tried it I have to say he is correct - but trust what your body tells you.

    Lots of science, lots of useful tips, trial data well presented. An exciting and supportive guide to fasting and the obesity epidemic. Definitely worth reading and much better than “the complete guide to fasting”
