Have a print copy, STILL bought Audible version!

Two doctors and a nutritionist recommended Intermittent Fasting for me. It sounded kooky and restrictive and impossible for a long while and then I Googled around and found Gin's podcast which led me to her books (Delay, Don't Deny and Feast without Fear). Gin's clear explanations made it seem a lot less kooky, a lot less restrictive, and a lot more manageable for someone who wants a normal life that involves sharing meals and social events with family and friends. DDD is a perfect introduction and also provides lots of background reading for those who want to dig deeper into the medical studies and science. I've shared her chapter describing insulin resistance a few times already to explain why I'm doing IF. Gin also has a delightful Georgia accent and genuine laugh that makes listening enjoyable. This is a great book to get started. If you want to keep it simple, you can just dive right in. If you want to learn more, she provides the annotated bibliography.

I love this way of life!

I have been fasting since January and could not be happier with the way I feel! I have read this book twice already and still wanted the audiobook! I recommend Gin’s other books as well.

Sanity at last

The concepts described in this book are simple and sane. The author explains the benefits of intermittent fasting thoroughly and in easy to understand language. She also describes various ways to fast, how to get started, and helpful hints for the journey. Additional resources are provided for readers who want to read more of the science behind IF.

The author's personal story is very relatable and will sound familiar to many of us who have yo-yo dieted.

I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in IF.

Changed my life!

I found this book on a recommendation from a friend. After 20+ years of yo-yo dieting and gaining and losing weight and feeling like a failure, this book has changed my life forever. I read the book in record time and began implementing IF immediately. The lifestyle was easy to implement, made so much sense, and I lost 20 pounds in the first 6 weeks. Was able to stay on the lifestyle while on vacation recently, and even lost 2 more pounds! I no longer have the defeating mentality that I've had for so long, I feel healthier, and I'm enjoying life. IF is so worth it, and this book allowed me to make this life change. I recommend it to anyone and everyone!

Life Changing!

This is a fabulous introduction to the idea of intermittent fasting! The author explains everything so clearly and adds a lot of humor to the topic. Delay, Don't Deny has really changed the way I think about food, weight loss, and overall health. I have found freedom after years and years of failed diets. Intermittent fasting makes so much sense to me and it's something I will be able to adopt for the long term. I'm so happy to have found this book!

Good Info

Seems like good, solid information on IF. This book finally got it through my head the importance of clean fasting. The author does mention she is a elementary teacher and that this may affect her narration. I did find it difficult sometimes to listen to, which is why at one point I gave up listening. I went back at it and finished and I enjoyed the testimonials at the end. They were very helpful as references.

Freedom from my food issues and a way to heal.

I have spent my entire life on diets. It started when I was 10. This book really resonated with me. The author seemed to have been on the same set of roller coasters I had been my whole life. Not only was the info in this book user friendly, it's backed up with enough references to science to please even the best skeptic. No more gimmicks. No more being afraid to eat (yes, I have spent at least 20 years being afraid to eat). Freedom and a healing path to listening to my body and letting it do what it was already smart enough to do in the first place, I was just getting in my own way.

Strange

Let me start by saying, I love intermittent fasting. However, I had multiple problems with this book. The most prominent one being that Gin Stephens clearly has an eating disorder and this seems to be her platform to glorify it. I'm not just talking about her "one meal a day" way of living. Although that really is extreme, if you read the entire book, including the appendix, you come to realize that Gin has lived a life consumed by extreme and very detrimental eating habits. They say that pregnant women and women with a history of eating disorders should avoid fasting. Gin most certainly has struggled with eating disorders for her entire adult life-and she admits this. I loved the title and the concept of the book but as the story unfolded I was left sad and disturbed.

Amazing Book

I have read both of Gins books twice. They are an incredibly easy read, and have changed my life. I have tried every diet, read every diet book, joined nearly every diet club.....all to lose some, and then put it back on again.
This time was different....it became more about getting off the roundabout and improving health rather than losing weight. Weight loss became a welcome side effect!
I have lost 47lbs since January, as has my husband.
Gin also has several Facebook pages, which have been a lifesaver. They provide a fantastic network of co-fasters all willing to share their experiences and help with any issues.
I have been impatiently waiting for the audio version so that I can listen whilst on my morning walk/run......something I hadn’t done for years, but now do 3-4 mornings a week. Thanks again to Gin.
Anyone who thinks they are too old/fat/sick to improve their health....think again.....this book will completely change your mindset.
Anybody can do intermittent fasting, there’s no special foods, you literally can eat what you want, no special clubs to join, no extra money to spend!
Delay Don’t Deny has set me free from the diet mentality that the commercial system wants us all to buy into....I feel liberated!
Thanks Gin for helping me to get my health, and my life, back.

Nice story

I will say is a nice book about the struggle of the author to lose weight. I totally tried and took her advice regarding fasting but didn't help and the Facebook group didn't bother to post my posts when I was asking for help. I didn't lose weight this way.

if you want a book that's piggy- backed on The Obesity Code, then this is probably the one for you. Author has no medical training, but " has read all the books" .... I'd like to return it. waste of money

I'd already read a few of the top titles on intermittent fasting but listening to this book surpassed my expectations and taught me a few new ideas to implement. I plan to buy my own copy for reference.
