People are the ultimate performance variable, and understanding how to effectively blend knowledge of proper training with the nuances of human behavior is integral to helping athletes achieve their ultimate goals. Unfortunately, while much attention has been given to the science of physical training, little attention has been given to the science of communication.

Publisher's Summary
Making and maintaining lasting changes in nutrition and fitness is not easy for anyone. Yet the communication style of a health professional can make a huge difference. This audiobook presents the proven counseling approach known as motivational interviewing (MI) and shows exactly how to use it in day-to-day interactions with clients. MI offers simple yet powerful tools for helping clients work through ambivalence, break free of diets and quick-fix solutions, and overcome barriers to change. Extensive sample dialogues illustrate specific ways to enhance conversations about meal planning and preparation, exercise, body image, disordered eating, and more. Reproducible forms and handouts can be downloaded and printed in a convenient 8 1/2" x 11" size. Instructors requesting a desk copy from Guilford will be emailed a link to supplemental PowerPoint slides and exam questions.
This audiobook is in the Applications of Motivational Interviewing series, edited by Stephen Rollnick, William R. Miller, and Theresa B. Moyers.
Motivational Interviewing in Nutrition and Fitness is wonderfully narrated by Kathleen Godwin. All figures and handouts referenced in the audiobook are included in the supplementary PDF, which is available for download with purchase of the audiobook.

Speed up to 1.1
Guys if you get this book speed it up to 1.1 it will help you so much 😂 it’s so monotone the speed helps the voice have a bit more upbeat
The information is amazing and super practical and well thought out. Comes with PDF to help you read and follow in chapters. Great information better than reading a book about MI because they give examples and then tell you what’s going on. Very good.

Worth the effort
The information and structure were very good. The tone, expression and accent of the narrator did not appeal to me and put me off listening.
