Captain Keyes is loved by the public but hated by Command. He captains the UHS Providence, an aging supercarrier and the last human ship not dependent on dark tech - technology humanity has used to rule over the galaxy since barely defeating the Ixa in the First Galactic War. Story
An artificial object made of compressed stardust is barreling toward Earth. Is it an invasion ship? A doomsday weapon? Perhaps it’s the final response of Squanto, the Warlord of Rigel who James McGill has repeatedly humiliated. Or could it be from the Mogwa, sent to avenge McGill’s assassination of Earth’s Imperial Governor? No one knows the truth of its origins, but the object is huge and unstoppable. Whoever hurled this rock at us isn’t answering our calls. Every weapon bounces off, and the people of Earth begin to go mad as they realize their destruction is only hours away.

Great military sci-fi
I've been listening to Scott's books while working as soon as I can get my ears on them. After Mech Wars and The Ixan Prophacy series I was looking forward to this set reaching Audible and Scott Bartlett and his narrator, Mark Boyet, continue to NOT disappoint. For any fans of Military Sci-fi this is a must listen.

Like Double-Mint Gum, Get Twice the Pleasure!
I remember reading this trilogy when it first came out. I suffered through waiting for Mr. Bartlett to write the next. With each story, the suffering got worse.
I bought this because I've listened to Mark Boyett perform before and boy oh boy is he good. I take umbrage at the industry calling the performers 'Narrators'; their voice fully changes with each character and just like the movie's or TV they act out the part with all the emotion you would imagine the character to have if the writer does a good job. It's just like listening to good music.
Let me tell you, this is one of Mr. Bartletts greatest books, it sets a storyline in motion that is continued in the next series he wrote called 'The Ixan Prophecies'.
This story is very complex, weaving around emotions, Hard and fast fighting [it's amazing to read or listen to Captain Husher dish out commands during battle like a machine gun], The Politics gone wild, The death and destruction, the intrigue and did I say Battle, oh my word the battle, fantastic.
All this is going on as the only way the good guys can win is to push their resident genius into creating new technologies to baffle the enemy with. I loved it. I can see me listening to this production again, only after I listen to 'The Ixan Prophecies', that is if Mark Boyett performs it. I hope.

Great Story!
The narrator really made you feel like you were right there with the characters. He altered his voice for individual characters in a way that made following the story almost seamlessly. The story itself is the high quality that I have come to expect from this author. I strongly recommend this book to anyone who loves military sci-fi.

Scifi. not really
This is basically a space example of our current political issues. I so not see how this serves as a fictional book to entertain. I gave it 7 hours, it only get worse.

Bartlett did not disappoint.
it's always great to get new content in a familiar storyline with characters you know and love. This had everything an avid science fiction reader hopes for. Relatable heroes, believable villains, exciting action sequences, fantastic tech, poignant social commentary, and a compelling story.
As always, the great Mark Boyett's narration was, well, great.
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this, and would recommend ALL of Bartlett's works to anyone even remotely interested in the genre.

Not for those who like 'hard SciFi'
Like the title says - I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone who is looking for hard science fiction. Is the story bad? No - Is it predictable and a little cookie cutter? Yes.
The 3 books get progressively better as they progress as far as overall plot and story. The characters are pretty straightforward and a little repetitive and I never really found that I cared for any of them. This never really bothered me as much but what really got me was the science fiction - I'll elaborate below.
The science part of this book is at the level of a B-movie. The issues that plague a space faring civilization such as food, aritificial gravity, communication and propulsion are either explained away with a quick 'thingamabob' or are ignored altogether. For example, there is technology to travel at FTL speeds via wormhole but it's use destroys the universe slowly; alternatively, this same technology which is based off a specific element, also creates artificial gravity but the effect is negligible. There are several cases in the book where something is simply a problem unless it isn't. In the first book, the protagonist has debilitating PTSD and in the following books it never once comes up. Propulsion just essentially happens with no real explanation of why or how or why they can fly across a solar system in what seems like minutes but at the same time - have to rely on gates for interstellar travel.
One of the other annoyances of the novel is that racism and prejudice are a massive component of the civilization. Book 1 pushes this to the point where I nearly returned the book. Books 2 and 3 bring it up when it is the most inconvenient but it honestly felt a little bit forced. I didn't care for this as it felt so forced and was over the top enough that it felt the author was being pointedly ridiculous. I found myself rolling my eyes constantly.
Again, despite all this I wouldn't say it's a 'bad' book - but I can't recommend it. If you want to listen to something very light that has action (there is a lot of action) and an alright story - this isn't a bad book for you. For those of us who love hard Scifi (think Ender's Game, The Expanse and other similar titles) this is a solid pass.

This is an amazing box set of scifi, with space battles, mechs and trying to save the multiverse. Run and get this book now, you will not regret it.
Audible did not have chapter titles for this title at the time of this review.
This title was provided free for review, however, this is my honest thoughts and review.

So sad it's over!
Scott Bartlett kills it again! The continuing story of the galaxy fighting for it's life does not disappoint. The character development, storyline, and attention to detail created an engrossing epic that kept me on the edge of my seat. With the spot on narration of Mark Boyett I found my self seeing and feeling every twist, turn, and sudden course change! Time to move on to the After the Galaxy Series. Keep 'em coming!

Massively disappointed - returned after Chapter 28
It pains me to write this review (as I do agree with some of the political opinions expressed). Usually, I am NOT reading or listening to a book to get lectured by the author on their personal world views! A lot of Sci-Fi franchises have been hijacked by left wing, identity group politics and it really, really turns fans off. Fans just want good storytelling. If u want to challenge people's presuppositions?....do it through challenging and absorbing stories that get them thinking....Star Trek used to do this brilliantly (pre-STD).
