About this listen

From Joshua Dalzelle, author of the best-selling Omega Force series, comes an all new vision of humanity's future.

In the 25th century, humans have conquered space. The advent of faster-than-light travel has opened up hundreds of habitable planets for colonization, and humans have exploited the virtually limitless space and resources for hundreds of years with impunity. So complacent have they become with the overabundance that armed conflict is a thing of the past, and their machines of war are obsolete and decrepit. What would happen if they were suddenly threatened by a terrifying new enemy? Would humanity fold and surrender, or would they return to their evolutionary roots and meet force with force?

One ship - and one captain - will soon be faced with this very choice.

A Surprise I've had in my library for awhile but never listened to for some reason . . . Its a nice read with s few surprises thrown in. The narrator does a nice job and keeps you in the book for the most part except for at the start of chapters where the last sentence is repeated which was the norm ages ago when you had tapes but now serve no purpose but annoy I don't know whether they were accidentally left in or what but are not really the fault of the narrator

Nice listen enjoy not too heavy

It's never over till . . . .

One of the prominent characters, Celeste (I presume that's the spelling) was pronounced SirLester, it should be as though the last e is silent: Celest.
Additionally, there was probably a typo that caused 'attitude engines' to be called 'altitude engines' rather annoying as it came up often, though not as often as SirLester.

Good story, good performance save a few words.

3.5 stars for story, good narrator.
The story moves along at a good speed and I didn't find any of it glaringly convenient or unbelievable.
I'll get the next one for sure.

Solid story and well paced
