Publisher's Summary

The celebrated story of how Marshall Mathers went from school and low-paid jobs in his native Detroit to global superstardom, rehab and comeback. Nick Hasted’s revealing account also looks back at Eminem's most important relationships -with his mother, his teenage soul-mate Kim Scott, producer Dr. Dre and The Bass Brothers who guided and inspired him from the age of fourteen.

Hard to listen to. Horrible

If you're a fan I would avoid this. The tone and demeanour of the narrator make this a very hard listen. So far I have forced myself to listen to about 6 hours of this audio book hoping for it to get better but I'm giving up here. Despite some good information the narrator clearly does not have an unbiased opinion of Eminem, rather a negative view which makes his views and comments on situations, quotes, an artists view, really hard to listen to and enjoy.

I'll be asking for a refund.

Stan the rapgod

Goes into ems life which lyrically some people won't know if the don't understand rap. It's a great life story of ups and downs if you don't listen to his music listen to this for an hour it will get you listening to him.

Good overview of his life

Well voiced with consistent characterisation of the Marshall Mathers quotes. Does make you feel for the guy, living his life in the open in music and the media.
Not the best biography, but not the worst

En-n-me

Much of the story comes from television and magazine interviews. It's a good starting source for anyone interested in learning about what others have written about Eminem and not necessarily Marshall Mathews.

A deeper informative look into the life of the entertainer many have grown to love.

As a fan that has followed Eminem for a long time I got to learn about sides of the artist I hadn’t heard anywhere else , the man behind the mask & the many struggles he went to get to where he is at. A inspiration to all artist musicians & everyday people alike.
