Slow start
Once the story got under way it was riveting.
In the beginning it seemed to jump around a bit. I kept rewinding to see who's storyline we were following. But apart from that, I quite enjoyed it.
It kept me interested and eager to listen again after a break

Probably the best book I have read of this author
This was a very different book to others he has written and has many overtones of the maestro Stephen King - perhaps largely as it is set in America. It has a a King-like malevolence without his characteristic supernatural endings (which I am less fond of). This book, like many of Robothom’s, is a compulsive read. Here the mystery is the man and his story which is gradually revealed after he breaks out of jail a day before he is released. That sets the interest. Why would anyone do that? It is here where we start and where it’s author obviously started too. I think this is the best of the many books I have listened to to date. A great piece of narration too. One must not forget the story is improved much by John Chancer.

Another brilliant book by Michael Robotham
Great narration and excellent story. New characters that didn’t disappoint. Having listened to the rest of this authors audio books I didn’t mind the change to a US based book and narrator

Great story
Great story with good twists. Didn’t like the narrator at all, especially how he spoke as the woman’s voice or Max’s voice.
