Karen Jones The petite blonde married a Hollywood star, yet she’s the one who spends every day playing a part: the part of a happy wife. A year ago, she agreed to wed a famous actor to defuse rumors about his personal life. Now, her divorce sits just around the corner, along with a five million dollar payout.

However, as she prepares to exit her fake marriage gracefully, her drop-dead-gorgeous brother-in-law walks through the door…and into her heart.

Dark-haired, blue-eyed hunk Zach crashes Michael and Karen’s fancy one-year anniversary party, determined to meet the wife his brother hid from their family. But sparks fly the moment he and Karen see each other. When the famous couple decides to visit the whole Gardner clan, Karen must keep Michael’s secret under wraps in front of his questioning relatives…including Zach, the man who could be the real love of her life.

An Uplifting Story with a little romance thrown in

Bybee keeps the series new and interesting by changing up the plots in interesting ways. Unlike other series which offer cookie-cutter plots, Single by Saturday is the story of Karen who is a dedicated volunteer to help young teens. The story is about what she is willing to sacrifice for others and a message about how to stand by the people you value in life. Bybee offers example after example of strong support through Karen's actions and the actions of her friends.

This book has romance but more importantly it shows the value of great friends and family and their value. This book is light on the raw romance and more heavy on relationship aspects and the value of individuals' ethics. I give it a thumbs up and I think the series is alive and thriving.

Continuing the Trend of Good Enough

With the exception of the first book of this series, this book was just like Books 2 and 3 in that it's good if you're looking for an easy romance to pass the time and don't need to pay close attention. Characters and story are all good enough in this regard.

I liked the romance between Karen and Zach better than the romance in Book 3, but things felt too contrived at times with some of the plot devices. The overall characterization was pretty one-dimensional as well, which can be fine, just don't expect a lot of depth in that department.

Tanya Eby has remained a 3-star narrator for me with this series.

I recommend this to fans of the series and author.

Marriage in name only

Karen is willing to pose as Michaels wife for a year, in name only until she meets Zack, Michaels brother. Life just got complicated. This story pulls you in the suspense of keeping secrets and playing a part, then rescue of teens and misunderstandings definitely keep the pages turning.

Improbable but Fun

Any additional comments?

Plot is very improbable but the story is fun. Karen and Michael are in a fake marriage because Michael, a huge movie star, is gay and needs cover. He takes Karen to his home in Utah and instant attraction sparks between his brother, Jake, and Karen. Discovery would be devastating to his family and to Michaels reputation as a macho movie star. Some become suspicious. Thrown into this turmoil is Becky's teenage pregnancy. Becky's parents are abusive. Becky's baby father is Nolan, who works for Jake. Karen has a passion for helping teens in trouble and she gets involved in Becky's dire situation. Of course everything blows up and Karen's friends, along with Michael and Jake's family, get involved in the fiasco. What to do? You have to listen to find out. The reader does a fine job telling the story. She does not get in the way and does voices quite well.

Another hit!

This is a continuation of the previous book, but was worth the read to get to the happy ending. Bybee's characters are likeable, charismatic and fun. Strong male and female characters make for strong chemistry.
