Publisher's Summary

Miller "Buck" Butterson has been banging his way through life ever since a puck to the face fixed his messed-up front teeth. After five years in the NHL, deflecting goals on the ice and scoring them with puck bunnies, Miller has decided he's ready for a girlfriend. A real, nonbunny girlfriend to take on dates and not jump into bed with after five seconds of conversation.

Miller thinks he's found that woman in his teammate's sister. Except, unlike team captain and all-around nice guy Alex Waters - who happens to date his stepsister - Miller's media reputation as a manwhore is well earned. Beyond that minor detail, Miller doesn't know the first thing about relationships or the time and effort they require.

Miller learns - eventually - that if he wants to make Sunshine "Sunny" Waters fall for him, he's going to have to do a whole lot more than show her his stick skills in the bedroom.

Perfect audiobook to embrace the Yeti

What did you love best about Pucked Up?

*SIGH!* I love all the Pucked Men but my favorite of all of them is Miller. He is sweet and perfect! I love the way he loves. What started as a revenge move, more like a thought because once he spend a little time with Sunny he knew she would be the girl he wanted to be his girlfriend, quickly moved into something more meaningful and challenging for him. He had to change a lot to prove everybody he was worth Sunny’s love and I’m so happy he could accomplish it.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Obviously Miller couldn’t do it all by himself, he had the help of Queen Violet and his best friend Randy. Love all my beloved Pucked Characters.

Which scene was your favorite?

I love the conversarion with Miller and Sunny af the end, the conversation that solves the drama!! *Not saying, it's a spoiler*

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Embrace the Yeti

Any additional comments?

Joe Arden has the perfect voice for Miller. It’s smooth and slow. It has the strength of Miller’s personality but also shows the vulnerability of Miller’s in certain situations in this book. Joe’s inflexions for Sunny were so great, translating her sweet personality and when they were having sex, it was so sexy and perfect. I seriously loved this audiobook as much as I loved the book. 100% Recommended.

I might be in the minority, but I enjoyed this better than the original Pucked.

I have to say I delayed on this story, because as much as I loved Pucked, I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy Buck's book. I didn't know if I would be able to be attracted to Buck, commonly referred to in Pucked as "the Yeti". The image in my head wasn't exactly all that hot! But I really do think I enjoyed this book even more than Pucked (even though that one had me laughing my butt off). Who knew that Buck was going to be Mr. Sensitive? Sonny was a little bland as a character, but the storyline was good and I loved meeting Randy in this book and can't wait to dive into his story next.

B rating...

My Review:
Overall: 3.5
Performance: 4.5
Story: 3.0

This is one of those books. Overall, I enjoyed listening to it...with one major exception. I really did not like Sunny, especially as the book went on and she didn't change her attitude at all. Miller deserves so much better!! He's such a nice guy with incredibly rotten luck. Sunny was too immature, and he really needed someone better...who could actually respect him. Because as this book is written, I cannot accept that their HEA will ever last past the next online photo blowup. Ugh...seriously.

But I did LOVE Miller's character and thought the narrator did a fabulous job. The entire book is told from Miller's pov and I LOVED that. While this particular book didn't work for me, I am really enjoying the series overall, so I did grab the next one in the series. I just hope the couple is better matched than they were in this one.

No Puck Up Here

Romantic comedy at its best! Just like book one in the series, Pucked Up was laugh aloud funny with quirky characters and flirty dialogue. The addition of some more serious issues grabbed at my heartstrings. Then add in the hot sexy romance and the book was perfect. Pure entertainment with the talented narrator... this book was no puck up.

MORE HOCKEY...PLS

Ok, so I gave it a day before I reviewed this book. I liked it but there were just some parts that really had me wondering why?
I really do understand drama in books, but sometimes I feel like there is just TOOOOO much drama.
The wittiness and funniness helps make up for all the dramalama

Sunny is a very insecure girl and what I don’t understand is why she doesn’t just TALK to Buck? I can’t tell you how many times I said out loud, JUST TALKKKKKKKKK TO HIM!!
I really am torn because other than that I really liked her character.

Buck does need to take more responsibility for some of the things he did. Having a backup phone would be one. For someone who does have a “disability”, it would just be smart. I say that in quotes because he has overcome it and though it is hard for him he is managing it.

Now this is under sports because he is a Hockey player, but I believe he played like one game and it was at the end of the book…. Why? I wanted team interaction, I wanted game plays… I feel like we kinda get gipped.

I really want to keep going in this series but I don’t have high hopes for the rest of them.

LOVED the narration! I am a fan of Joe Arden because he can not only do male voices, plural, but he can do a female tone that doesn’t make me want to rip my ears off. :)

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

smh

this book was all sex. also using the word puck(ING) for the F-word, just annoying. I get that is the title, but give me a break. there was no connection between the characters. h goes off with an ex but H doesn't mind, even after all the pic's of them all cuddled up together. H meets up with h and it's all sex and hardly any talking. another bad pic and h runs off with ex again after H gets punched and is bleeding. with the H, at least you understand the misunderstandings with his pic's. h is a stupid little girl and the whole vegan thing just made me roll my eyes. then h & H get back together after a few words and start having sex. I wish the H found a more worthy girl for his love. no man, no matter how much in love, would ever be okay with his woman running off with her ex twice. there is no words of how bad this book is.

Good Story

I read the first book a few month ago and thought it was time for me to dive into the next book and I am pretty happy I did. Miller is the misunderstood Hockey player who has a reputation to be a player but is in love with Sunshine. Sunshine love him but is so easily influenced by everyone else not to give him a chance. I felt bad that no one would see Miller for the good person he really was and so easily assumed the worse with the photos that always posted. But it's all good because we get a HEA in this story. And Joe Arden does a great job with his narration.

Good Hunting

Hunting has a way of writing that engages you in the life of her characters and draws you into a story. She must have grown up with boys because she can write a guys point of view with a guy’s sensibility. My one and only quasi-criticism is that I wouldn’t mind if Hunting had a very skilled, very sensitive editor that could work out parts like Buck’s depilatory fiasco near the end. It added nothing for me.
Miller “Buck” Butterson, is 23, and a member of Chicago’s professional hockey team. He grew up in Chicago, and his childhood friend Randy “Balls” Ballistic is also a teammate. Captain of the team, Alex Waters, is engaged to Violet, Buck’s stepsister, and is brother to Sunshine Waters, 20, whom Buck wants as his girlfriend.

Buck has never been in a relationship and doesn’t know how to act. His life is further complicated by being dyslexic; his misadventures with text-to-speech in this story are classic. (He has my sympathy - he has to depend on it. I had to turn off maybe 4-6 different commands that feed into the autocorrect functionality on my iPhone. I now have maybe 10% of the typos that I used to have going out.)
I really like Joe Arden’s voice so, yes, I think he does a very good job with narration. But I wouldn’t mind if he worked on bringing a little more depth of emotion where appropriate.

Another great story

Absolutely loved this. The narration was great even though it was only read by the man in the story. Its funny, a bit sad here and there but mostly great.I am gradually working my way through this authors audio books and enjoying them.

Nearly gave this 2 stars

Very mediocre story filled with characters you just want to shout at in frustration. Lots of sections are unnecessarily long and detailed without adding anything to the story which makes it drag as a read. I don’t mind long books, but the words have to count and add value. None of the characters or the story left a mark. Left with a sense of disappointment and feeling unfulfilled now it’s finished.
