From the outside, I live a charmed life: hockey legend for a father, my own promising future in the league, a great family, awesome friends. It’s not untrue, but it’s not quite that simple either. My dad’s advice has always been to make hockey my number-one priority—at least until I make it to the pros.
So going into my senior year of college, I have a plan. I’ll put in the effort required to pass my classes, play hockey like my life depends on it, and avoid relationships. All I have to do is stay focused on the end game. It should be easy.

I absolutely loved the development of his relationship with Clover and though they were just perfect for one another. These two have edged out all the others to be my favourite couple Helena Hunting has written.

If you think you’re going to get anything similar to the Pucked series, you will be disappointed.
This story is full of apologies, from making her feel uncomfortable to making her feel frighten, or threaten by the presents of a large man.
I felt sick to my stomach when Maverick felt he had to make himself less imposing, or threatening due to his size.
My son is a tall young man, but the most gentle of souls, and the thought he would ever be made to feel the need to do that is mortifying. My daughter is half his size and she could stream roll him without thinking twice.
There is even a scene very similar to what was in Pucked Under that was turned into some major drama about consent, I read this author because she makes me laugh, not the case this time.
This book is filled with what is currently going on in the world, and since we are currently living through it I certainly didn’t want to read about it.
Maverick is lovely don’t get me wrong, as for Clover I’m not a fan. It was a struggle to find anything I liked about her, it was a struggle to finish this audiobook and I have been waiting for this release for what felt like forever.
