The best story ever told.

There are many stories I love but the Lord of The Rings always stands high above.

So much details put into the history and reason for the story makes the story so strong in my mind. The friendship of all the characters can be heart warming.

No matter how many times I read it I always hear new parts and details which make me love it more.

Read it, love it, and forever remember it.

Great as usual, however needs an update

This needs an update, much like the star wars books, with sound effects and the like... Still excellent though...

Wonderful telling of this classic.

This was throughly enjoyable, the rich timber of Rob Inglis' voice was enough to rival Sarumans. As I traveled about the country I could imagine I was in Middle Earth.

Taken on an adventure

Read the books numerous times over the decades but to listen to it allowed me to close my eyes and drift off to middle earth and be part of this great adventure.

An absolute favourite!

The depth and clarity this audiobook brings to Tolkien’s creation cannot be understated. I have tried listening to other narrators of these amazing books, but always find myself coming back to Rob Inglis and his interpretation of the various characters throughout the epic. Truly brilliant.

As a huge Tolkien fan, I have listened to and read the books more often than I can accurately remember and if anything can endorse the scale, quality and depth of this story it’s the fact that it never, ever gets old. The story continues to stimulate me with its stirring and epic themes regardless of how many times I enter and re enter Tolkien’s world. Up there with the best books of all time in my opinion!

Next, Audible need Martin Shaw’s narration of Tolkien’s The Silmarillion. A essential prequel to the events of LOTR and very well read.

Missing bits

Not sure if it's Two Towers or Return of the King but there are chunks missing from both books.
