Publisher's Summary

After a violent home invasion in the remote wilds of Glen Coe leaves a family of four dead, DCI Jack Logan and his team are brought in to lead the manhunt.

But, when one of the victims is revealed to be one half of legendary 1980s Glasgow-based comedy double act, Neeps & Tatties, Logan is forced to leave the Highlands and head back to his old stomping ground.

He may have spent his career dealing with the worst humanity has to offer, but to find out who killed Archie Tatties and his family, Logan will have to confront his most terrifying challenge yet - the seedy world of Scottish light entertainment.

An Isolated Incident is the eleventh book in JD Kirk’s internationally best-selling DCI Logan crime-fiction series. Perfect for fans of Chris Brookmyre, Stuart Macbride, and Alex Smith.

More excellent writing!

It has taken me until the 11th book to review JD Kirk, because as I finished other ones, another volume beckoned. As volume 12 is not yet written (hurry up, JD Kirk), thus…
In this novel we meet the assorted team members dealing with a hideous crime, personal crises and a montage of nasties from the criminal underworld. The banter is as wonderful as ever, the cups of tea frequent as demanded, and the food as bad as ever, although lunch at the Pig bar hits new lows with descriptions that stay long after the book is finished.
Recommended.
Oh, and the Scottish words are amazing. Bad weather is ‘dreek’. Glorious. Oh, and read the other ten books.

Love this

I love this series. It’s actually quite strange with the characters so funny at times. The detectives are quite loud and I do laugh a lot. Angus King has been doing this series for ever so he knows the characters well.
Want another one soon.

Fantastic

Good plot, lots of twists and turns. Couldn’t predict the ending. Love the characters. Narrator is very good. Makes the characters come alive.

I absolutely love Jack Logan. Angus King would have to be the best narrator I have ever heard.

Another great murder mystery

Love this series of books. Great author and orator. Should be made into a film series.

Great story, narrator could improve.

Most characters portrayed well. But, why, when a different voice is needed, does the narrator often make them so nasal. Awful to listen to.

Mawkish & tedious

These DCI Logan books usually zip along at a cracking pace, but this one kept veering off into the wholly uninteresting territory of Tyler's right bollock. It just felt like padding out of a fairly humdrum story.
