Publisher's Summary

Some scars never truly heal.

Life has been slowly improving for DCI Jack Logan lately. Happily settled down with the woman of his dreams and a dog he begrudgingly tolerates, things are finally going Jack’s way.

But could all that be about to change?

When a sadistic killer begins picking off victims on the streets of Inverness, Jack’s boss decides to bring in some outside help. But the new team member is an old flame from Jack’s past who isn’t quite ready to let him go.

And as the dead bodies rack up, the happily ever after that Jack has been building for himself might just be the next victim to fall....

City of Scars is the 14th books in the multimillion-selling DCI Logan Scottish crime fiction series. Perfect for fans of Ian Rankin, LJ Ross, and Stuart MacBride.

"With gripping, twisty-turny plots, unforgettable characters, and a rich vein of laugh-out-loud humour running throughout, if you haven't yet discovered the DCI Logan series, get started now!" (Thrilling Fiction)

Each one is better and funnier

The writing and the humour get better with each one of the series. JD Kirk gets more sophisticated but the greatest improvement is in the humour. For such a griesly subject, I couldn't stop laughing.
The plot and the completion of the story also see great progress with each book.
I love the characters, Logan and the team are a pleasure to follow.
It's great to have stories where professionals support each other, help each other, and work together for the greater good.

like a great cup of tea ,you need to keep drinking in the story because its brilliant, and like a great cup of tea you dont want it to end, getting to flesh out the story is so fulfilling and travelling with these characters is a laugh and a cry and horror and suspense, angus king again he nails the characters and the emotions, cant wait for either jack and co or BOB HOOOOON the spunk stick

Another excellent addition to the series.

Gripping, well written and lively story. Brilliant narration and hilarious characters. The only downside is the wait for the next book!

Jack and the crew are tops again

I just love this series and this latest offering is spot on. Jack and his team are once again fighting the bad guys but the interplay of the characters is really what makes these books. Could Tyler be any better? Can’t wait for the next in the series. Narrator, Angus King, you rock!

My 1st Audible narration of a JD Kirk book.

Amazing! Angus King brings Jack Logan and his team to life in the most enjoyable way. When a gruesome murder and a case of the Flu bring Jack's old flame into the team, tensions build and Shona finds herself fighting for Jack's attention.
This case is also taking its toll on the team, Hamza's family life is suffering, there is something wrong with Sinead and Ben is acting weird. Take my advice, if you're a Jack Logan fan treat yourself to an Audible narration. You'll be laughing and crying and people will be looking at you funny..... Enjoy!

Roll on the next episode

As usual a great listen and story. There is always the element of surprise and of course a laugh out moment.

Loved it!

Thoroughly enjoyed this next novel in this series.
The development of the characters is so fun to read. Wasn’t sure about Heather at first but grew to enjoy her and the banter between her and Shona! Very entertaining and well written.
Plot resolution is neither predictable or laboured and narration is on point again.
