Publisher's Summary

The explosive new Scottish crime fiction novel from Amazon best-selling author JD Kirk.

It all started harmlessly enough. An egged window, a deflated car tire, and a few garden gnomes knocked over. But then, the silent calls began–late nights and early mornings to landlines and mobiles, and numbers that no one should have access to.

At their wits' end, three former British Army soldiers, now living in the Highlands of Scotland, have no choice but to turn to the police for help.

And that is when the killing starts.

Brought in to lead the case, Detective Chief Inspector Jack Logan finds himself locked in a battle of wits with a meticulously organized murderer.

A murderer who has been planning all this for a very long time.

In Service of Death is the 17th book in the multimillion-selling DCI Jack Logan Scottish crime fiction series by JD Kirk. Perfect for fans of Iain Rankin, Chris Brookmyre, and Stuart Macbride.

Sleepless

Up to the usual delightful Kirk standards if not better.
Love Hoon popping in and delivering his usual class and etiquette!!
As mentioned, eagerly awaiting next entertaining ‘episode’.
Ps. Gerard Butler would make a great Logan!

Kirk and King!

Entertaining as ever! Both author and narrator are brilliant and they work so well together to bring this gang to life. I hope this series gets adapted for the screen soon.

another great book and angus king👍🏻

loved it, another stella hoon appearance and some teasers for the next one. just wish kirk had delved a little deeper in to the emotions re Tyler...instead of just making him shrug it off and crack on. Surely, given what his character has been through throughout the series, there would be a dark place looming in his head that maybe only Logan could see bring him back from?

The humour amidst the tragedy

I liked the variety of characters and the interaction between them.sometimes I thought the vulgarity of unnecessary.

Another great story

I’m yet to be disappointed by this author. Angus King perfectly encapsulates each and every character as per usual.

Great listen

Humour in the midst of a gripping whodunit. Angus King is a
wonderful narrator who brings all the characters to life.It is perfectly clear to the listener which character is speaking.
