About this listen

Six months ago, a girl vanished. Now, it’s happening again.

When the body of a teenager is discovered near Eilean Donan Castle several months after she disappeared, DCI Jack Logan and his team journey across the Highlands to investigate.

As they start to unpick the young woman’s life, the secrets and lies they expose soon threaten to tear the small rural community apart.

But when a second girl goes missing in similar circumstances, it isn’t just a murder investigation that Jack finds himself running.

It’s a race against time.

Here Lie the Dead is the 15th book in the multimillion-selling DCI Jack Logan series from Scottish crime author JD Kirk.

Always such great stories, such a brilliant combination of excellent crime writing with humour woven through it. And fantastic characters. All brought to life with Angus King’s extraordinary narration. Can’t wait for the next one. Much prefer the DCI Logan series to the Bob Hoon series.

Another great DCI Logan story

JD Kirk is by far one of the best authors in my opinion. Angus Young does his work proud.

At first I wasn't sure if I'd continue with it because I absolutely despised one of the characters. However, I was lured in by the depth of the characters. Spot on reading by Angus too. I was very impressed by his many varied voices.

Thoroughly entertaining.

I am a fan of, such gritty characters and sublime humour. Story and plots enhance the building of the characters so you feel familiar with them, like old friends that you are eager to meet again.

Brilliant

I find it hard to describe a book about a dead girl as 'hilarious' but this was the 1st book in a long time that had me laughing out loud. I'm from near Inverness so the humour took me right back. The story was fantastic and a real page turner too but almost took second place to the interaction of the characters

hilarious- very entertaining

Another 10/10 !! Keep them coming JD. Also loved Hoon's "guest's appearance. He should pop in more just to irritate Logan!

Awesome....again!
