Vintage Heyer story, full of romance and intrigue and humorously drawn characters. Narration was excellent, but a bit distracting at times when the narrator seemed to forget what ‘voice’ he was using for whom. Nothing that would make me hesitate to buy however.

Great

Narrator brought the characters to life. I always liked the subtlety of the Duke's diffident, slightly shy charactor. He's very different to any of Heyer's other male leads, not being a man in command at all at the start of the book. This book is slower paced than some other Heyer's, but it suits the character development that's central to the plot. By the end you're cheering for Gilly as he takes command! Relationship development between Harriet and Gilly was very sweetly written.

Great narrator

A tiny bit slow to start, but such a sweet and humorous story with affable and entertaining characters. Unexpected twists that caused predictable reactions from characters, but this was welcome as it was intended to be easy reading/listening. Also, narration was excellent and different voices, genders, and accents were all done skillfully. Will listen to again.

Entertaining!

Though I found I had to speed the reader up to 1.1 time and he speaks beautifully but very slowly.

Love this story

What a cracker of a storyline and read with a real understanding of the wit whims of each character. Thank you so much.

The pace of performance and story: excellent

Fantastic character development and plot - very amusing. Voice performance likewise excellent. One of the best Heyer novels and quite unique.

Entertaining in the extreme
