Publisher's Summary

GEM agent, Opal’s strengths are adaptation and infiltration. Assigned to go undercover at a youth center when several teenagers disappear, she’s shocked to recognize a ghost of her own traumatic past at the helm. However, her worry for the missing kids is greater than her concern being recognized and she risks her own safety to discover the truth.

To complicate matters, an FBI agent with the Child Abduction Rapid Deployment team she’s worked alongside before, shows up conducting his own investigation and almost blows her cover. It takes some convincing, and cooperation is reluctant at first, but the common goal sways them to join forces.

Working together to uncover an organized group of child molesters, they find themselves falling—for each other.
____

GEM: a privately-funded organization operating independently in the search for—and the rescue and recovery of—missing and exploited children. Although at times working in conjunction with law enforcement, GEM aims to ensure the victims receive justice…by whatever means necessary.

special topic handled with csre

Oh boy. I've missed Freya . It's been awhile since audible has had any pf her new books.
Opal is awesome, I so love the age of the H and h and that Opal is described as an average heroine and the attraction is built around the personality and vocation of both main characters.
Then Freya does a marvellous job of bringing the 2 together, then splitting the plotline in 2 different directions with the ultimate goal for both of them bringing them back together.
The serious topic addressed, keeps my mind keen as the leads and mystery deepens.
What I like is the grit Freya writes is not soul deep and overly gut wrenchingly
emotional . Instead, the story moves at a medium pace with a suspense that kept me in investigative mode. Just loved it.
There was a nice chemistry with romance and a tad of steam . But the excitement and angst ramps up as we draw closer to the end. What sass and strength these girls have.
The H and his cronies definitely get a lesson from some GEMS it was a fantastic. There was some in your face suprises I didn't catch on to and I thought it was another culprit, I got it wrong.
Exciting, fun, angst, police work and Romance. Loved, loved this plotline,
I can't wait for pearl.
I haven't listened to these to narrator's before, but yip ya! They are awesome.
James Cassidy had some great, accents and I enjoyed his tone and brilliant inflection.
Maria did just as well, she breathed life into opal and did so well. I loved her.
