Publisher's Summary

The chief scientist at the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS) turns a critical eye toward such practices as telepathy, clairvoyance, precognition, and psychokinesis. Are such powers really possible? Science says yes.

According to noted scientist and best-selling author of The Conscious Universe, Dean Radin, magic is a natural aspect of reality, and each of us can tap into this power with diligent practice.

But wait, aren't things like ESP and telepathy just wishful thinking and flights of the imagination? Not according to the author, who worked on the US government's top secret psychic espionage program known as Stargate. Radin has spent the last 40 years conducting controlled experiments that demonstrate that thoughts are things, that we can sense others' emotions and intentions from a distance, that intuition is more powerful than we thought, and that we can tap into the power of intention (think The Secret, only on a more realistic and scientific level). These dormant powers can help us to lead more interesting and fulfilling lives.

Beginning with a brief history of magic over the centuries (what was called magic 2,000 years ago is turning out to be scientific fact today), a review of the scientific evidence for magic, a series of simple but effective magical techniques (the key is mental focus, something elite athletes know a lot about), Radin then offers a vision of a scientifically informed magic and explains why magic will play a key role in frontiers of science.

PSI=MAGICK

An enjoyable and fascinating book that provides insight and evidence for magic/psi being more than chance but not much evidence for being able to develop these abilities to perform miracles.

Just listen to this

While I still find myself somewhat sceptical about the findings laid out in the book, I am very much glad I listened to this. Apart from discussing magic itself, the book really does a great job of challenging otherwise supposed truths.

Read it not for the magic, but for everything else that is mentioned in the book.

Fantastic beginners book to the subject of Magick.

There are many academic references here for those looking for them but Dean lays out the history and modern cases for Magick.

He also has a very interesting take on cybernetics, ai and the implications of Magick that many I don't think have thought of yet.

Great but dwells on trying to prove too much

I really enjoyed this book, I enjoy most books I read. The fact that it was lingering for a while on trying to prove the content through statistical information really let it down.

Present the material as it is, my 2 cents but grateful nevertheless to be learning and hearing words of wisdom.

Spirituality en Science

If you love the mix between science and spirituality then this book it’s for you. I have learned so much about the studies that I have been done on the world of psy and I appreciate Dean’s work in my industry. I haven’t joyed every moment of this book

Loved it

I really enjoyed this book. The fact the general scientific community does not believe it, sadly just proves him right but in the wrong way

Amazing timesaver

A fantastic arrangement of historical occult and religious history, modern research, cultural dogmas and case studies in support of the emerging truth that the materialist worldview is incomplete.

If they're brave enough to get past the cognitive dissonance the title envokes, skeptics may find something truly valuable here and hell, we even may just all get along after all!

Outstanding work by a fine scientist.

Loved this book. On the cutting edge of knowledge, Dean Radin is able to cut deeply and with lucidity.
Could the publisher please create audio books of Radin's previous books: Supernormal, Entangled Minds, and The Conscious Universe.
