About this listen

An Ufthak Blackhawk Audiobook

Ufthak Blackhawk reckons he’s in for it. Da Meklord has summoned him, and the Gargantsmasha just knows his boss wants to kick his teef in and be done with it.

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

Ufthak Blackhawk faces the Drukhari in the teeming flesh pits of their dark city of Commorragh as he finds himself challenged to gladiatorial combat against the masters of pain.

THE STORY

Out of options, Ufthak leads his Waaagh! through the mysterious webway, to a place where kunnin’, sneakin’, and thinkin’ are the name of the game. A place with little truck for muscle and brawn – Commorragh, the Dark City.

Here, where kabals and haemonculus covens pump psychic viscera into the warp, Ufthak is thrown into gladiatorial combat and soon finds himself up against an archon who will stop at nothing to prove she deserves to rule the Dark City – even if it means bringing Commorragh down around her.

But the Drukhari are about to discover that while orks may be simple, very little about them is ever straightforward.

Mike Brooks has delivered another cracker. The vocal performance by Harry is his best yet. I'm not sure which I enjoyed more, the story or Harry's reading of the story. I hope we get many more like this.

Mike's writing or Harry's reading?

Loved the narrator, who really got into the voices with gusto, adding to the humour. Nice to have something lighter in tone than the usual grimdark.

Most fun in 40K since Infinite and the Devine

"Oi, ya gitz! Just finished listenin’ to The Big Dakka, and lemme tell ya, it’s a roight krumpin’ good time! Da story’s full o’ laughs, fights, and more explosions than a Mek’s workshop on a bad day. Da narrator? Waaagh-worthy! Brought all da characters to life, like dey was shoutin’ in me ear. Every ork and humie had dere own voice, proper brutal or sneaky as dey should be. Felt like I was right in da middle of da Waaagh! If ya love a good scrap and plenty o’ dakka, dis one’s a must. Big green thumbs up! Waaagh!!!"

Fantastic story. So fun to see Orks meeting Drukhari and all the ensuing shenanigans. Can’t wait to read more from Mike Brooks.

This alwas a hillarious read. unlike books about Space Marines, this had many laughable moments which captures the Orkish humour and fun loving gitz that they are!

Really Fun

The Orks are the race truly winning in 40K. Great story, great performance, thoroughly enjoyed this one.

Happy with the change to Harry Meyers as narrator. He does Ork voices (and other races) so well it always surprises me that it's all done by the same person.

Excellent

It's great to see a proper return to the best Ork about. The voice acting is spot on and the story is a hell of a ride to listen to.
