Excellent lead up to Rogue One

Such a great story and creates a great build up to the begining of Rogue One. The movie is excellent on it';s own, but the story behind the relationship of many of the characters in the movie are well established in this novel.

Any Star Wars fan will love this book, excellently read and entertaining to the end...

ending a bit unsatisfying

It was interesting enough to keep my attention. the ending was unsatisfying.

this work is typical James Luceno, lots of "office politics"

Where’s all the action gone?

The back story of a genius engineer and his feisty wife was not the exciting roller coaster I saw in my mind’s eye. I was pining for blasters, lasers & God forbid, light sabres.

A must listen before you see Rouge One!

What made the experience of listening to Catalyst (Star Wars) the most enjoyable?

This is a must for all Star Wars fans. Listening to this helped make the Rouge One film one of my favourites. Catalyst is an awesome back story filled with nostalgic references that make it feel old and new at the same time. Great writing and Jonathan Davis is fantastic.

well performed

I found the story slow, but most of it is about the guy who builds the laser for the death star. I suppose the title "How the Death Star Got Most of It's Laser" isn't as catchy a title.

A well performed but boring story

What did you like best about Catalyst (Star Wars)? What did you like least?

The performance is well done, the sound effects as always are excellent

Would you ever listen to anything by James Luceno again?

perhaps

What does Jonathan Davis bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Yes. His performance was excellent

Was Catalyst (Star Wars) worth the listening time?

Not really

Any additional comments?

Overall a great performance of a rather boring story. The characters were uninteresting and the story revolved around the creation of the laser. All the potentially interesting parts of the story such as any battles or behind the scenes politics were removed with the focus being essentially on ones man and his research.

The Rise of Krennic

Catalyst is a fantastic story that gives its readers further depth into the characters of Rogue One. However, if I hadn't have already read or seen Rogue One, some of the characters would have been lost on me. Therefore personally, I would recommend listening to this book after watching or reading Rogue One.

I thoroughly enjoyed hearing the story behind Galen and Lyra Ersos involvement with the Empire. However, I absolutely loved learning of the uprising of Orson Krennic.
As a bonus, Catalyst also gives its readers more depth into the infamous Governor Tarkin... definitely worth a read.

Good Star Wars Rogue story

Fairly easy to digest Star Wars story. It gives more background to the Rogue One story.
