Daughter, Come Home. (Christian Healing for Daughters of Toxic Mothers, Trauma Recovery, Intimacy With God, Identity, Self-Worth)

  • Summary

  • Sister, God has impressed upon me the idea and importance of HOME for His beloved daughters who have been crushed and broken in the relationship that was suppose to be a place of safety, nurturing, and unconditional love. The relationship between mother and daughter.

God knows better than we do just how the trauma of having a toxic mother has impacted us negatively in our relationship with Him, ourselves, and others. He knows that it has made us feel unwanted, unworthy, unloved, unsafe, unknown, and unvalued. This has sent us looking for identity, worth, value, and love in all the wrong places. And every single time we have come up empty. And even more hurt. Still longing for someone to simply see us, hear us, know us, and love us.

God desires to meet us in our emptiness. He desires to be our place of safety, security, belonging, acceptance, understanding, rest, peace, healing and unconditional love. He wants to end our search, to satisfy our hearts, to lay us down in green pastures to rest in Him.

God wants us to discover our true home in Him. A place where we feel safe and welcomed just as we are. The place where we are able to drop the masks and allow our walls to fall. A place where we are real about where we really are and what we really feel about Him, ourselves, others and our lives. A place where we feel truly accepted and unconditionally loved simply because of who we are- regardless of our performance.

God wants to remove the weights of perfection, performance, and striving to be loved and accepted from our shoulders. He wants us to finally stop being afraid every time we make mistakes. He wants us to stop beating ourselves up because we believe we aren't enough. He wants us to finally let go of fear, obligation, and guilt. He wants us to remember no more the negative words spoken over us. He wants us to realize that he's absolutely deliriously delighted in us!

He knows that in order for us to come to this place of security in His love we must be healed. And in order to be healed we must finally find a place of rest and safety where we can uncover our wounds and allow God to see us completely. The Daughter, Come Home Community is our place of safety where we can explore God's heart. During our time together we're going to look into God's word in a way that allows us to bring all of ourselves to God. We aren't going to just address the pretty stuff that we think God wants to hear, we're going to bring all of ourselves into his marvelous light. (The good, the bad, and the ugly) We are going to allow ourselves to be FULLY SEEN by God... and FULLY LOVED!

We're going to be real with God (maybe for the first time), ask questions, struggle through our pain, be uncomfortable, celebrate our breakthroughs, cry, laugh, and everything in between as sisters in the safety of our Father's house. Nobody is going to have it all together. Nobody is going to fake it till we make it. We are going to be messy, undone, and yet beautiful.

It's time to discover just how loved we really are. Sis, it's time for us to return home!

  • Reading the Bible from a "this is who you are" standpoint (Proverbs 3: 5-10)
    Jun 14 2024

This week I have been steeping in Proverbs 3:5-10 TPT and I always read it from a place of this is who I need to become or this is what God wants me to work toward. But this week God illuminated my eyes to see that when I read the word it is my Father's voice calling out to tell me "this is who you are".

No longer are we under the old covenant system of rule or working to please God. A new covenant has come in Jesus Christ that has made us complete and whole- lacking nothing. We are no longer striving toward anything. We already have everything in Him.

The Bible doesn't tell us "this is what you must do" it shows us "this is who you are now". Praise God!

    XOXO,

    Ronica

So sometimes I do the very thing that I don't want to do and that I hate doing in my relationship with my daughter... I lose my cool. I yell. I'm not kind. I do what I've always seen done in my family.

And then I slink away feeling mega guilty and ashamed and I wonder if God will ever rid me of these behaviors that I fear might be damaging my daughter.

Let's talk about what God said to me as I allowed him to speak into my relationship with my daughter in the midst of frustrating incident!
