• #23-the difference between mindfulness and meditation
    Oct 22 2020

In this episode, I talk about how mindfulness expands beyond meditation. It is something you can do all the time. Mindfulness includes active and passive outlets. You can wash dishes being mindful, talk to a friend, being mindful, driving, exercise, etc. Yoga is also about being in the present moment through movement.

    I expand on...

    •  the definition of mindfulness and meditation
    • how they are similar but different in a few ways
    • I also talk about guided meditation and how I use it in my own practice and with my clients.

Enjoy the Podcast and remember to be curious, consistent, and make sure you breathe!

  • #22-why are we wired for negativity?
    Oct 15 2020

So, I don’t know if you are aware…but you think a lot, and most of what you think about is negative.

Yes, negative. I am not saying you are negative by choice, it’s just how your brain is built.

We are gonna talk about the brain and negative bias and how to stop it from mucking up your life.

    In this episode...

    • I talk about how much you think.
    • What negative bias is and why we are wired for it.
    • How our memory works when it comes to negative bias.
    • How you can become less negative and more positive.

Enjoy the Podcast and remember to be curious, consistent, and make sure you breathe!

  • How do you know if you're mindful?
    Oct 8 2020

How do you know if you are mindful?
It is an interesting question and one that makes a lot of sense if you think about it. If you are new to mindfulness then you may not feel as though you are being mindful. What does it feel like and how do you know when you are?

Mindfulness, as I have mentioned before is a natural state of being present without judgment.
In this episode, I talk about...

    • Negative bias and how it is easier to explain mindfulness by what it isn't vs what it is.
    • I'll touch on how it feels to be mindful.
    • spaciousness and simplicity
    • how mindfulness can be fleeting.

    Enjoy!!

P.S would you like to answer some simple questions on overthinking? I would appreciate your input. (It can be confidential if you like)

  • #20-Look up for calm!
    Oct 1 2020

Have you ever walked out of a building and then looked up to realize you are noticing something beyond your tiny thinking? Yea… like that.

We have been told to look up our entire life, but do we really?

    • Stand up straight-chin up!
    • Keep your head held high
    • Lookup
    • Have faith

When we mop around or are sad, we tend to look down, averting eye contact. In some ways, it can feel easier, because we can hide for a while.

In this episode, I am going to discuss looking up....literally and figurative.

    • Body posture matters
    • How our brain changes with looking up
    • looking up to notice potential
    • connect with that intuitive side

  • #19-Grieving Mindfully
    Sep 24 2020

    Grieving mindfully

Grief is the most complex emotion next to love.

And when it hits us we don’t know what to do. It feels like our brain stops working while our body catches up. It’s a horrible feeling.

Grieving is something we all have to do at one point in our lives. We can’t get out of this one alive. Yet, it is an emotion that we stuff as far down as we can. We want to believe it is not true, that we can change it and that we are being punished by it. All of this is further than the truth.

Grief is one of the greatest teachers. It forces you to look within. To appreciate the small things in life, to teach you how to use your grief on purpose and above all to be more compassionate with yourself and others.

In this episode, I share a story about grief and ways to mindfully grief.

    • The Mustard Seed Story
    • How to use the image of the waves to mindfully grieve.
    • Knowing that through it all, you can and will be ok.
    • learn how to grief on-purpose

  • #17-Hypnosis misconceptions-Client Q&A
    Sep 10 2020

This is about hypnosis misconceptions that have come up.

I’m going to get into a little bit about some questions that I’ve been given lately in regards to hypnosis and give you a little bit more information on how hypnosis works.

In this episode, I answer these questions

    • I went to a hypnosis stage show and they couldn’t put me under. Besides, I don’t want to cluck like a chicken.
    • I can’t visualize anything. I have no imagination. How am I going to be hypnotized?
    • I have strong willpower so how am I gonna be hypnotized?
    • My friend went to a hypnotist And she went so deep and when I went, I didn’t.
    • Is hypnosis safe? And does it really work?

I also discuss what the pre-talk is and how it can alleviate concerns.
