About this listen

Welcome! My name is Cheryl J. Reynolds and this podcast is for you-the overthinkers who want to think less. If you suffer from overthinking, analysis-paralysis, or if you find yourself chasing those shiny objects all the time, then this pod's for you! It's about time you decrease your overthinking so you can feel focused, patient, and of course... calm. Don't you agree? In this pod, I talk about the overthinking "sneaky" mind and how you can calm it down naturally with mindfulness, hypnosis, and some fun brain hacks. On occasion, I provide mini-meditations to help dim the glare from those shiny objects. Enjoy the pod! • #23-the difference between mindfulness and meditation
    Oct 22 2020

In this episode, I talk about how mindfulness expands beyond meditation. It is something you can do all the time. Mindfulness includes active and passive outlets. You can wash dishes being mindful, talk to a friend, being mindful, driving, exercise, etc. Yoga is also about being in the present moment through movement.

    I expand on...

    •  the definition of mindfulness and meditation
    • how they are similar but different in a few ways
    • I also talk about guided meditation and how I use it in my own practice and with my clients.

Enjoy the Podcast and remember to be curious, consistent, and make sure you breathe!

    Hugs, Cheryl

  • #22-why are we wired for negativity?
    Oct 15 2020

So, I don’t know if you are aware…but you think a lot, and most of what you think about is negative.

Yes, negative. I am not saying you are negative by choice, it’s just how your brain is built.

We are gonna talk about the brain and negative bias and how to stop it from mucking up your life.

    In this episode...

    • I talk about how much you think.
    • What negative bias is and why we are wired for it.
    • How our memory works when it comes to negative bias.
    • How you can become less negative and more positive.

Enjoy the Podcast and remember to be curious, consistent, and make sure you breathe!

    Hugs, Cheryl

  • How do you know if you're mindful?
    Oct 8 2020

How do you know if you are mindful?
It is an interesting question and one that makes a lot of sense if you think about it. If you are new to mindfulness then you may not feel as though you are being mindful. What does it feel like and how do you know when you are?

Mindfulness, as I have mentioned before is a natural state of being present without judgment.
In this episode, I talk about...

    • Negative bias and how it is easier to explain mindfulness by what it isn't vs what it is.
    • I'll touch on how it feels to be mindful.
    • spaciousness and simplicity
    • how mindfulness can be fleeting.

    Enjoy!!

P.S would you like to answer some simple questions on overthinking? I would appreciate your input. (It can be confidential if you like)
