• The Weight of Manhood in Islam
    Oct 5 2025

What does Islam really expect from men?

In this episode, we explore the Qur’anic idea of qiwama not as control or privilege, but as amanah: a weight of responsibility, mercy, and accountability before Allah. We revisit the examples of Abu Bakr, Umar, and the Prophet ﷺ to uncover what true manhood looked like in their lives: sacrifice, humility, and service.

But we also face the uncomfortable truth how today many men chase authority while abandoning responsibility, and how cultural double standards distort the balance that Islam set.

This episode is a reminder, a challenge, and an invitation: for men to rise to their responsibility, for women to know the dignity Islam grants them, and for our communities to return to the prophetic model of justice and mercy.

  • marriage is not a destination
    Sep 22 2025

In this heartfelt episode of Marriage Is Not the Destination, I sit down with Sister Fatima Sab a modern Muslim matchmaker, for a candid and deeply needed conversation on the full journey of marriage: the before, the during, the divorce, and the after.

Together, we unpack not only the hopes and joys of marriage but also the challenges and fears that many women face, especially when contemplating leaving unhealthy or abusive relationships. We reflect on the Qur’ānic vision of marriage as a space of tranquility, affection, and mercy as Allah says in Sūrat al-Rūm (30:21): “He created for you from yourselves mates so that you may find tranquility in them, and He placed between you affection and mercy.”

We also explore Sūrat al-Ṭalāq (65:2–3), where Allah promises that even after separation He will provide for both parties from His infinite provision. This divine reassurance speaks directly to one of the greatest fears many women hold: the fear of financial instability and raising children alone after leaving a harmful relationship.

This episode is an honest, faith-centered discussion about what healthy marriage can look like, the courage to walk away when it is no longer safe, and the unshakable trust in Allah’s mercy and sustenance at every stage.

  • The envious woman
    Sep 9 2025

This week on The Seeking Covering Podcast, I speak to my sisters about a hard truth that sometimes, women become other women’s worst enemies. Behind the smiles, there can be secret envy, silent grudges, and quiet competition.

But our Deen calls us to something higher. The Prophet ﷺ taught us to love for our sisters what we love for ourselves, to support rather than destroy, to lift each other with sincerity and compassion.

In this episode, I want to peel back the layers of envy, reflect on how it poisons our hearts, and remind us of the beauty of a heart that loves for the sake of Allah. Because healing begins when we let go of envy and choose love instead.

  • The old must die to make way for renewal
    Sep 2 2025

In this episode, I share a simple but profound reflection I had while sitting outside, looking at the trees and the sky. I noticed a broken branch stripped of its leaves yet on that same branch, small new green shoots were growing. It made me realize that what we often see as an ending is in fact a new beginning, a rebirth. Just as Allah ﷻ revives the earth after its lifelessness, He brings renewal into our lives after moments of loss, hardship, or change. Join me as I reflect on how brokenness can be the very place where growth begins, and how nature reminds us to trust Allah’s wisdom in every season of life.

  • Letting God & Choosing To Live
    Aug 21 2025

In this opening episode, I share a deeply personal part of my journey navigating infertility, loss, and the weight of society’s expectations on women. As someone who has faced the pain of losing a child, I speak to the narrative that a woman’s happiness begins and ends with motherhood.

This episode is a reminder that our worth is not defined by what we lack, but by who we are and how we choose to live. Yes, many of us were raised to dream of homes filled with the laughter of children, but we can still live purposeful, fulfilling, and joyful lives with or without them.

I invite you to reflect with me on the power of letting go, trusting Allah’s plan, and choosing love in the present moment. Because every du’a that remains unanswered in this dunya will be fulfilled in the Hereafter in ways so beautiful that people will envy us.

This is an episode of hope a call to step out of desperation, embrace the now, and remember that Allah never forgets our prayers.

    With love,

    Aisha Mubenga

  • Reflections On Death
    Aug 14 2025

In this heartfelt episode, I share two deeply personal experiences of stepping into a funeral home and standing before two lifeless bodies. The stillness of that moment, the weight of the air, and the reality of what I was witnessing left an imprint on my soul.

Through these encounters, I was reminded of what truly matters in life not the noise, not the fleeting desires, but the eternal journey that awaits us all. I reflect on the profound hadith of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, who urged us to remember often the destroyer of pleasures death. This is not a call to sadness, but to clarity; a reminder that every breath is a gift and every day is a chance to realign with what truly counts.

Join me as we pause together, reflect deeply, and find meaning in the one reality none of us can escape.
