Story
The first time I met Hudson Rothschild was at a wedding. I’d received an unexpected invitation to one of the swankiest venues in the city. Hudson was a groomsman and quite possibly the most gorgeous man I’d ever laid eyes on. He asked me to dance, and our chemistry was off the charts. I knew it wasn’t a good idea to get involved with him, considering the wedding I was at. But our connection was intense, and I was having a great time. Though the fun came to a screeching halt when Hudson figured out I wasn’t who I’d said I was.

Story
My love story all started with a letter. Only it wasn’t from the man I’d eventually fall in love with. It was from his daughter. A sweet little girl named Birdie Maxwell who’d written to the magazine that I worked for. You see, once a year my employer fulfilled a few wishes for readers. Only that column didn’t start up again for months. So I fulfilled some of her wishes myself. It was harmless…so I thought. Until one day I took things too far. While anonymously granting yet another of Birdie’s wishes, I got a look at her father.

Publisher's Summary
How can someone so smokin' hot be so bad in bed? I mean, Sean Cassidy is absolute rubbish. Rubbish. He is the epitome of walking, talking false advertising and I want a refund! Plus he's an arsehole. So...what is wrong with me that I can't stop thinking about him?
The Pixie
Lucy Fitzpatrick doesn't like rugby.
As the little sister of Ireland's most infamous rugby player, Lucy can't seem to escape the championship-sized shadow cast by her big brother, or her mother's frequent attempts to micromanage her future. Her rainbow hair is as free-spirited as her quest for inner peace, yet overbearing expectations keep bringing her down. And when she's down, her compulsive little problem lands her in seriously big trouble.
The Player
Sean Cassidy is a cold-hearted brute...or so he's been told. Frequently. By everyone.
His blonde locks, baby blues, and rock hard bod make ladies the world over drool with desire. As the rugby world's second most infamous player, he should be basking in his success. But Sean has never been content settling for second place, and his frequent confrontations with Lucy's big brother leave him cold. And when he's cold, his compulsive little problem lands him in the lap of Lucy Fitzpatrick.
The Plan
Sean has a problem only Lucy can solve. Lucy has a problem only Sean can fix. The solution seems obvious: you scratch my back, and I'll bail you out of jail. But when their business arrangement unexpectedly leaves Sean scorching hot and Lucy on the precipice of inner peace, can they convince the world - and Lucy's big brother in particular - that this is the real deal?
Either way, both the Player and the Pixie are about to teach each other some pretty monumental lessons about family, life, but most importantly, love.
The Pixie and the Player is a full-length, romantic comedy novel, can be enjoyed as a standalone, and is the second book in the Rugby Series.

Loved the narrators!
Absolutely loved the narrators! George Allan and KC Sheridan were spot on on choices for Sean and Lucy. Those accents! *swoon*
I read book one in this series a couple of years ago and somehow LH Cosway and Penny Reid fell off my radar. I know, the horror! Right? When I saw that this series was available on the Romance Package, I was ecstatic that I would be able to reunite with this writing duo. The writing was just as I remembered. I laughed, I swooned, and I even cried.
I loved how it was the Hero in the story that was "inexperienced", for lack of a better word. I wasn't sure about Sean in the beginning. He was such a haughty prick that I didn't know how he would turn things around but he did. And it was the unexpected side of him that endeared him to me.
I'm eager to start The Cad and the Co-ed now. Bryan and Eilish, yikes! How will that turn out?

4 The Player and the Pixie Stars
I really enjoyed Sean and I didn’t think I would. Because in book 1 he isn’t a character you would want to read about but I loved that he was humanized in this book and that he wasn’t a total douche bag.
Lucy being that she is Ronan’s brother was interesting and her dynamic with her mother and with her brother made me see her in a different light.
I get why she does the things she does but I wanted her to get help.
I loved that Lucy was Sean’s teacher, and that he likes her just the way she is!! I lovvvvvved that part of the book so much.
Again another hit. I am really excited to read the next installment in this series.
The narration is awesome and how he changes the voices of each of them man just a little really helps keep them separate.
*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Great
Great series. Definitely an original. I have never read a book the has such a different path for the man character. He’s so difficult because of how he was raised. Basically a snob and many other choice words but this was awesome. You always see men teaching a virgin woman about sex and even though he is no virgin this journey of discovery is amazing. Sorry if I gave to much away but this is something different and with different for me that means it’s a must read!!! Not just different but honestly a great story. The h/h both have issues that they help each other with with all good books but this journey was great and a reread for me for sure.

after reading the first book in the series I didn't think it could get any better but they did it again. the sex started off sooner in this one so although there was no anticipation in this one the sex was very descriptive and arousing. good read most definitely.

Different and delightful!
Every single thing about this story appealed to me. The whole “forbidden” nature of the relationship between Lucy and Sean was irresistible and then, as I listened and the story unfolded?
Hot. Damn.
It was sexy and sweet and romantic in a way I was completely not expecting. I loved every single thing about it. The narration is perfect (and gah! How I loved the accents), and so is the story itself. A+++!

Ok
I really liked the first book. I wasn't sure about how to redeem Sean from the first book in this book and actually, the authors did a pretty good job overall- I liked him by the end, although I felt like it wasn't clear why he was acting so juvenile to get back at Lucy's brother, Ronan (from the first book). Lucy was also not a great character- she has issues with her mother that lead her to actually act out by being a kleptomaniac. I honestly didn't think the authors did a great job with showing both of the characters maturing over the course of the book. Together, overall, the couple was not that likable. Some funny situations, cute banter and a good overall supportive cast of characters made this book flow.
KC Sheridan was a good narrator of the audiobook, which I listened to via audible escape. George Allan was good too and I actually think that his voice was probably consistent with the "silver spoon"description of Sean. But his female voice was a bit weak and some of his other voices sounded a bit like a caricature. Overall, though, it was a fair narration for an ok story.

Excellent book
Probably my favourite in the Rugby series, I have loved this story. The characters are complex and deep, and their slow evolution together makes for a great time. Snark and witty comebacks abound, which makes it all the more enjoyable.
I also like the slightly unusual story, a welcome change from the usual "player" storyline.
Performance-wise, I found the fact that Sean's accent was different between Lucy's narration and his a bit distracting, but it was not too much of an issue. As for the Irish accents, being French meant that I have very little to say about their accuracy. All I can say is that they did sound vaguely Irish to my ears, which worked just fine as far as I am concerned.
All in all, a very, very good book.

A fun and hot enjoyable read. I didn't like the accents shauns voice was a mix between a posh Londoner and Irish it was confusing at first but the story was good.

Enjoyable, light easy read. Personally though, I did not warm to Sean and Lucy as much as I did with Ronin and Annie in book 1, they did not appeal to me as people and I had no compassion for them throughout. The story was well written, I loved revisiting the previous characters, the chemistry between Sean and Lucy was great at times, but I just didn't feel them. It has not however put me off reading book 3, I'll be starting it soon, I'm hoping that Bryan and Eilish's story will have me back in the zone. The narrator's didn't really work for me.

How can you not love a story about a sexually inept posh male and a cleptomaniac rainbow haired girl. It's funny, angsty and us misfits are entitled to our happy ever afters too. If you aren't aware that flaws are humorous this isn't for you. Plus that male Irish accent.....drooling!
