About this listen

From USA Today best-selling author Devney Perry comes a small-town, enemies-to-lovers romance.

Winslow Covington believes in life, liberty, and the letter of the law. As Quincy, Montana’s new chief of police, she’s determined to prove herself to the community and show them she didn’t earn her position because her grandfather is the mayor.

According to her pops, all she has to do is earn favor with the Edens. But winning over the town’s founding family might have been easier if not for her one-night stand with their oldest son. In her defense, it was her first night in town, and she didn’t realize that the rugged and charming man who wooed her into bed was Quincy royalty.

Sleeping with Griffin Eden was a huge mistake, one she’s trying to forget. He’s insufferable, arrogant, and keeps reminding everyone that she’s an outsider. Winslow does her best to avoid Griffin, but when a woman is found dead on Eden property, the two of them have no choice but to cross paths.

As clues to the murderer lead to one of Quincy’s own, Griffin realizes Winslow is more than he gave her credit for. Beautiful and intelligent, she proves hard to resist. For him. And the killer.

I don't know what it is about a grumpy cowboy but it gets me every time! I can see why this series is so popular now. Romantic suspense are not generally my thing but I enjoyed this one and loved that the storyline was pretty realistic when so many murder mysteries end up being extremely wild and over the top.

My favourite thing about Indigo Ridge is how the love story unfolded and evolved between Winn and Griffin. It started off as a one night stand that turned into something causal and before either of them realised they were both fully committed and besotted with one another - it felt genuine and natural.

- Chief of police officer x rancher
- One night stand
- Romantic suspense
- Small town romance
- Spicy
- Dual POV

Spicy Chapters: Open door scenes are 11, 12. However there were many closed door scenes or very brief descriptions of their encounters throughout the book.

Plot: This is about a one night stand between the towns new chief of police and a rancher, however when a body is discovered on his property they cross paths and you get the rest...

A really nice little novel that has a great variety of dialect brought to the forefront by the narrators. I did feel it could’ve had a little more depth & it brushed over the emotions a bit too quickly, but overall a good book.

Interesting the whole way through.

what a hunkalicious Griffin is!
well done Ms Perry for creating such a yummy character. even if he does have some brain freezes!.
I so enjoyed the mystery that unfolded between the lines of the romance. a few red herrings to keep you guessing and then some suspense in the action just top it off.
I was glad there was no drama, push, pull between h and H as that is what pushes me toward military based instead of love based novels.
Vanessa and Jason. omg!!.just brilliant so loved the narration.

wow, and I waited so long to get to this

I listened to this book as an audio book on Audible and I really liked it. It was narrated by Jason Clarke (whom I love, I could listen to his voice all day) and Vanessa Edwin (she is becoming a quick favourite for me). I think they were the perfect fit for the characters. It was a short listen which was such a bonus, I listened to this so quickly.

The story follows Griffen Eden and Winslow Covington, two strangers who meet at a bar, both hoping for a one night stand. But when Winslow starts at her new job as Chief of police in the small town that Griffens family basically own, and a body is found on his family ranch, as a suspected suicide, the two work closely together. Neither is interested in a relationship but working close toothier sparks something in them and they can’t keep away from each other.

- Duel POV
- Murder Mystery
- One Night Stand
- Small Town
- Chief of Police x Rancher

Griffen is the typical grumpy cowboy rancher who isn’t looking for a relationship and only has eyes for his ranch. He doest want trouble for his ranch or his town, so I see the reluctance he had to Winslow stepping in and bringing up things he thought were done and buried in the past. Under all his grumpiness, he was actually a softy for Winn, supporting her and caring for her.

I loved Winslow (AND IM OBSESSED WITH HER NAME). Being a police officer she has seen some stuff, but in her personal life, she has had some trauma herself. I was soooo happy she found a family in the Edens. She was such a badass, hardworking and confident woman sticking up for who she believed and trusting her gut, and I love that in a FMC.

It was a good book to listen to when you weren’t wanting too much spice, as it was actually pretty minimal. The plot was so interesting! It was a mystery right up until the end and I was hooked on it. The romance aspect of the book, it was there, but I feel the book focused more on the mystery rather than the romance, BUT in saying that, I actually really enjoyed it! Denver really wrote some difficult subjects really well, like suicide, dementia, etc. I was on the edge of my seat the whole book and WAS NOT EXPECTING the twist at the end!!!

I can’t wait to get into the next book and continue the series.
