About this listen

From USA Today best-selling author Devney Perry comes a small-town, enemies-to-lovers romance.

Winslow Covington believes in life, liberty, and the letter of the law. As Quincy, Montana’s new chief of police, she’s determined to prove herself to the community and show them she didn’t earn her position because her grandfather is the mayor.

According to her pops, all she has to do is earn favor with the Edens. But winning over the town’s founding family might have been easier if not for her one-night stand with their oldest son. In her defense, it was her first night in town, and she didn’t realize that the rugged and charming man who wooed her into bed was Quincy royalty.

Sleeping with Griffin Eden was a huge mistake, one she’s trying to forget. He’s insufferable, arrogant, and keeps reminding everyone that she’s an outsider. Winslow does her best to avoid Griffin, but when a woman is found dead on Eden property, the two of them have no choice but to cross paths.

As clues to the murderer lead to one of Quincy’s own, Griffin realizes Winslow is more than he gave her credit for. Beautiful and intelligent, she proves hard to resist. For him. And the killer.

I don't know what it is about a grumpy cowboy but it gets me every time! I can see why this series is so popular now. Romantic suspense are not generally my thing but I enjoyed this one and loved that the storyline was pretty realistic when so many murder mysteries end up being extremely wild and over the top.

My favourite thing about Indigo Ridge is how the love story unfolded and evolved between Winn and Griffin. It started off as a one night stand that turned into something causal and before either of them realised they were both fully committed and besotted with one another - it felt genuine and natural.

- Chief of police officer x rancher
- One night stand
- Romantic suspense
- Small town romance
- Spicy
- Dual POV

Spicy Chapters: Open door scenes are 11, 12. However there were many closed door scenes or very brief descriptions of their encounters throughout the book.

Plot: This is about a one night stand between the towns new chief of police and a rancher, however when a body is discovered on his property they cross paths and you get the rest...

A really nice little novel that has a great variety of dialect brought to the forefront by the narrators. I did feel it could’ve had a little more depth & it brushed over the emotions a bit too quickly, but overall a good book.

Interesting the whole way through.

what a hunkalicious Griffin is!
well done Ms Perry for creating such a yummy character. even if he does have some brain freezes!.
I so enjoyed the mystery that unfolded between the lines of the romance. a few red herrings to keep you guessing and then some suspense in the action just top it off.
I was glad there was no drama, push, pull between h and H as that is what pushes me toward military based instead of love based novels.
Vanessa and Jason. omg!!.just brilliant so loved the narration.

wow, and I waited so long to get to this

This book never gets old and the narration was one of the best I’ve listened to

Amazing book and narration

An enjoyable read. I liked that it wasn't too long and the performances were great (though duet narration would've been even better). The romance and characters were well-written and satisfying. The mystery wasn't mind-blowing or anything but it was pretty good. I have some minor nit-piks, like everyone was a little too insistent on the deaths being suicides even though shit was pretty obviously fishy but nothing that ruined the story.

ABOUT THE SPICE, is it open door? Short answer, not at first but yes after a while.

Before this the only Devney Perry book was Coach, which was very much open door so I was a little surprised (and let's be honest disappointed), when the first few spicy scenes were fade to black. At that point, I kind of just figured this wasn't that kind of book and stuck with it anyway since it was still otherwise enjoyable and relatively short, but then we eventually get smut anyway.
There's nothing really wrong with this and I don't expect every sex scene to be described I just thought it a good disclaimer since some readers, like me, might be a little confused about what to expect. Readers that don't want smut might be annoyed when it starts happening mid-book and readers that do want it might be initially frustrated by the fade to black.

All in all worth a listen if you want some romance with a decent plot to go with it.

A nice mix of romance and mystery
