One of my favourite novels
I loved this book so much, more than the first one, which I thought was hard to top. The author has such a unique and quirky style, as does this narrator who made the whole listening experience amazing and peaceful. I was in shambles at the end and have rarely been as moved by a book. Really interesting character construction, and very real. Will forever love this series

Gritty but powerful
The characters are so imperfectly real that they draw you into the story and provoke strong reactions in the reader. Nothing is black and white and the complexities of small town life are captured perfectly.

Waiting in anticipation for the next installment
It was not as powerful as the first but I'm hooked on these characters so for that reason I'm looking forward to part 3.

A beautiful piece of writing and reading.
I really enjoyed this as a follow up to Bear Town, Fredrik has a beautiful minimal writing style and John Sackville, reads this with a full heart.
It was a lovely book to listen to.

Sequels, in my experience, usually suck. This one, I loved. I am not an easily moved reader, but I adore the characters and found my eyes leaking at times. Great author and narrator.

Excellent
So so good, a great listen. Not the happiest of stories, but then we don't always get a happy ending in life and Beartown embraces its flaws and celebrates its successes, as we all should.

If I could give it 6 stars I would
I cried and laughed and my heart ached when I listened to this sequel. Backman touches the reader’s soul like nobody can. It’s one of those books that will stay with you forever. Simply amazing writing which finished way too soon.
