Quick and easy read, enjoyable detective novella
Quick and easy read, an enjoyable detective novella. I liked that it was told from Moriarty's right-hand man, Captain Moran.

A fun little tale
Andy Weir demonstrates his writerly chops once again, this time giving us a look at the villainous Moriarty's early exploits in evil.
If you're a fan of Sherlock Holmes, or little mysteries, get this one - it's short, but sweet!

Bravo
after just listening to the 71 hours of Stepehen Fry's narration of Sherlock Holmes on audible, this was a splendid dessert. I have enjoyed three of Andy Wier's books previously and this novella is of the same high standard. and it is so true to form of the original sherlock stories

A great take on the Holmes criminal equal
A great little story (stories) to have in your pocket. Listen to this in conjunction with Sherlock Holmes stories to get a grasp of James Moriarty. Well written and interesting, hopefully Weir has more Moriarty stories to offer.

Fun view point
Love Andy Weir and Sir Doyle, so this was great fun. Also interesting having it framed from the criminals perspective.

Good Fun
Interesting read to have the main characters as the dark side, parallel to Holmes and Watson…
It is a pity there were not more stories

The Wicked Side of the Sherlock Holmes World
A fantastic introduction to Professor Moriarty that may well have been written by Arthur Conan Doyle himself. The story is told from the perspective of an underworld figure to detail some of his early experiences with Professor Moriarty. It is greatly reminiscent of Watson following along with Holmes on his adventures, but from a playfully wicked angle.
Graeme Malcolm narrates superbly. One of my highlight's being his portrayal of a crime boss in the second chapter.
TL;DR: If you enjoy Sherlock Holmes and are even a little curious about the evil side of that world then you'll enjoy this. If only there were more than the three short tales featured here.
