Publisher's Summary

Agatha Raisin's ex-husband James has become engaged to a beautiful young woman, and Agatha has been kindly invited to the wedding. This is a difficult pill to swallow, so to take her mind off it, Agatha begins a flirtation with Sylvan, a Frenchman she met at James's engagement party. She also decides to holiday in Istanbul, where unfortunately, she bumps into James and his fiancée, not once but twice - convincing him she is stalking them. So when the bride is murdered on her wedding day, naturally Agatha is Suspect Number One....

Old age and loneliness are catching up with Agatha

'There Goes the Bride' is another wonderful Agatha Raisin mystery, relaxing, light and cosy. I enjoyed the book immensely, but I feel obliged to mention that it's probably the saddest out of the series so far. Old age and loneliness are starting to catch up with Agatha. I can't wait to see what's in store for everyone in the following books!

Delightful

Another thoroughly enjoyable romp through the life of Agatha Raisin. Penelope Keith is the perfect narrator, nobody else who could do it better.

Ghastly Agatha stumbles through another lame story

I only listen to these books because they are so rubbish I can put them on the timer and go to sleep to them. in this outing, the murder is solved half way through and the rest of the story is about the ghastly A lurching desperately from one man to the next like a naive schoolgirl

Oh and MC, use an editor!! You refer three times to 'badly executed' paintings. And your sloppy writing needs a good prune!

There goes the Bride

A very easy listen. Penelope Keith's voice suits the story very well. I will probably listen to more. I have read the books before but listening brings the stories more alive.

A bit of a let down

Sadly the lovely Penelope Keith is a one accent gal and was not able to sufficiently bring the characters to life. I loved the BBC radio series and hoped that this would match up unfortunately it did not. M.C. Beaton seemed to have an obsession with hair and there was a lot of repetition of dialogue and descriptions through the stories.

silly, wonderful who dunnit!!

like the other Agatha Raison books this is a solid, daft who dunnit with the glorious menopausal Agatha creating her usual chaos - well worth a listen. Beautifully read by Penelope Keith.

Disappointed

Too far fetched and unrealistic . The escapes from death for Agatha are ridiculous
