Jack Miller has spent his entire nine years in the same house on the same street in the same town with the same best friend. One day, while delivering papers on his same ordinary paper route, Jack finds himself amidst a very unordinary world. A world where strange and silly monsters become his friends. In this story, Jack and Annabelle meet Winston who is determined to get their help back in Monster World.

Ebenezer and Bethany are attempting to help the beast vomit some good into the world–even though they really haven’t come anywhere close to managing the business of do-gooding themselves. Super-clever Jack, the coolest dog in the world, gets to try different jobs a dog can do. After having had a pretty special job in Africa looking after orphaned chimps at a sanctuary, Jack-Jack heads for some varied work experience. Is he barking up the wrong tree as he experiments with being a search and rescue dog? Next he spends time at a police dog training academy, then trying to herd runaway sheep and finally as a therapy dog for humans in need of some cuddle time with a furry, four pawed friend.

This time Jack, the “King of Ashes”, spends all his time hove off in the coal box, until one day he shakes off his ashes and sets out on an adventure that includes sneaky robbers, a “famous missing princess with reward attached”, an always-surprising canine sidekick, a royal wedding, a lovelorn rooster-puppet, a conniving ship’s captain, corpses, curses, kisses, a coat, and a whole lot more!
