• Interview with Whitney Tidwell: Raising 4 girls and learning from your DNA
    Feb 15 2024

Whitney Tidwell thought she was healthy but she will tell you that she was the healthiest, unhealthiest person out there. After being diagnosed with a number of autoimmune diseases, she decided to take her health into her own hands and really get down to the nitty gritty of nutrition. Whitney started a company called Mirror DNA, that analyzes your DNA to help you become the healthiest version of yourself. In this episode we chat about her company, how health is not one size fits all, raising four girls in a body image obsessed world, and how Heavenly Father can help us understand our worth.

  • I Love My Body's Cycles, for they Provide Future Life
    Feb 8 2024

I will stand here firmly and tell you that your period is a God given gift from your Heavenly Father and the importance of it should be talked about. I think it’s a disservice that we don’t talk about it more freely, and help young girls, and older ones for that matter, understand what a regular period should look like, and why we should be taking it seriously. So much future frustration can be eliminated if we recognize when things are off early on. And if our period is so precious and important to life, then we should be having safe places for girls to talk about them and not feel awkward or like they are alone.

  • I Am Authentic to My Divine Nature
    Feb 1 2024

When I was growing up in Young Women’s, we had what were called young women values. Faith, Divine Nature, Individual Worth, Knowledge, Choice and Accountability, Good Works, and Integrity. They were not recited in order of importance, but were each ingrained into my mind every single week from the age of 12-18. I can still recite the whole thing. I’m grateful for a young womens program that helped me center my life around a theme like this, and I hope I exemplify every one of those values still today.

For today’s chat though, we are talking about divine nature. This one was always a special one to me, as it made me feel like I had a unique connection with God. Later on in life though, I feel like it really helps me recognize what it true, most important, and what I should be focusing on as I build myself into what and who God wants me to be.

  • Interview with Kendell Petersen: College Athletics and Body Image, Being a Latter-Day Saint at the College Cup
    Jan 18 2024

Kendell Petersen is not only and incredible college athlete, but she's also my cousin! I loved our interview.
Kendell and the BYU Cougars played in the College Cup twice in her career. We talk about that unique experience, how they got there, and lessons learned. Kendell also speaks to going through the temple for the first time, the BYU dress code, and nutrition as an athlete. This is a must listen for young girls wanting to play in college, or moms raising future athletes!

  • What I Wear is a Celebration of my Confidence
    Jan 11 2024

I like to take a different view of modesty. I don’t love the idea of people labeling people as modest or immodest. Because honestly you can’t know that about a person simply because of the clothes they wear. Modesty is so much bigger than an article of clothing. It encompasses such a wide spectrum of ideas and morals, that it’s simply impossible to narrow down into one outfit. But lots of people don’t believe that. Especially those from a different generation. It’s straight cut, cover up, and everything fits into a box. We measure length, width, and sheerness. All of this is about what a person is wearing, but it has nothing to do with the person who is actually wearing it.

  • I came to Earth to gain a body, but my body is not my purpose.
    Jan 4 2024

God did not call you to earth to look good in every photo you put online. Where’s the fun in that anyway?! I know you have some pictures that surely give you a laugh from high school. But who is going to remember what you were wearing, how your makeup looked, or if you were posed just right? No one. What they will remember is how you made them feel, what you said to someone who was down, or the stand you took for something that was right.
