    Genesis 31:42 (NIV)

42 If the God of my father, the God of Abraham and the Fear of Isaac, had not been with me, you would surely have sent me away empty-handed. But God has seen my hardship and the toil of my hands, and last night he rebuked you.”

  • The fear of the Lord: Cain and Abel- the essence of worship
    Oct 25 2023
Genesis 4:1- 16Cain and Abel4 Adam[a] made love to his wife Eve, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain.[b] She said, “With the help of the Lord I have brought forth[c] a man.” 2 Later she gave birth to his brother Abel. Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the soil. 3 In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the Lord. 4 And Abel also brought an offering—fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The Lord looked with favor on Abel and his offering, 5 but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast.6 Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? 7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.”8 Now Cain said to his brother Abel, “Let’s go out to the field.”[d] While they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.9 Then the Lord said to Cain, “Where is your brother Abel?”“I don’t know,” he replied. “Am I my brother’s keeper?”10 The Lord said, “What have you done? Listen! Your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground. 11 Now you are under a curse and driven from the ground, which opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand. 12 When you work the ground, it will no longer yield its crops for you. You will be a restless wanderer on the earth.”13 Cain said to the Lord, “My punishment is more than I can bear. 14 Today you are driving me from the land, and I will be hidden from your presence; I will be a restless wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me.”15 But the Lord said to him, “Not so[e]; anyone who kills Cain will suffer vengeance seven times over.” Then the Lord put a mark on Cain so that no one who found him would kill him. 16 So Cain went out from the Lord’s presence and lived in the land of Nod,[f] east of Eden.

  • The fear of Lord- Your Priesthood in the order of Melchizedek
    Aug 9 2023
Hebrews 7 (NLT)Jesus Is like Melchizedek15 This change has been made very clear since a different priest, who is like Melchizedek, has appeared. 16 Jesus became a priest, not by meeting the physical requirement of belonging to the tribe of Levi, but by the power of a life that cannot be destroyed. 17 And the psalmist pointed this out when he prophesied, “You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.”18 Yes, the old requirement about the priesthood was set aside because it was weak and useless. 19 For the law never made anything perfect. But now we have confidence in a better hope, through which we draw near to God.20 This new system was established with a solemn oath. Aaron’s descendants became priests without such an oath, 21 but there was an oath regarding Jesus. For God said to him,“The Lord has taken an oath and will not break his vow: ‘You are a priest forever.’”22 Because of this oath, Jesus is the one who guarantees this better covenant with God.23 There were many priests under the old system, for death prevented them from remaining in office. 24 But because Jesus lives forever, his priesthood lasts forever. 25 Therefore he is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.26 He is the kind of high priest we need because he is holy and blameless, unstained by sin. He has been set apart from sinners and has been given the highest place of honor in heaven. 27 Unlike those other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices every day. They did this for their own sins first and then for the sins of the people. But Jesus did this once for all when he offered himself as the sacrifice for the people’s sins. 28 The law appointed high priests who were limited by human weakness. But after the law was given, God appointed his Son with an oath, and his Son has been made the perfect High Priest forever. The ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ for mankind demonstrates the most pure, righteous and Holy form of priesthood. God loved this so much that He ordained Jesus Christ as High priest in the order of Melchizedek. Just like Jesus, we have been chosen by God, we are building stones of his Spiritual temple. Jesus Christ has opened a way for us to be living sacrifices giving our best to God in our daily living, which is pleasing to HimMusicThe Inspiration by Keys of Moon | https://soundcloud.com/keysofmoonAttribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0)https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/Music promoted by https://www.chosic.com/free-music/all/White Petals by Keys of Moon | https://soundcloud.com/keysofmoonAttribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0)https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/Music promoted by https://www.chosic.com/free-music/all/

Hebrews 11:5-6New International VersionBy faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death: “He could not be found, because God had taken him away.”[a] For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God. 6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.Music by White Petals by Keys of Moon | https://soundcloud.com/keysofmoonAttribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0)https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/Music promoted by https://www.chosic.com/free-music/all/ Warm Memories - Emotional Inspiring Piano by Keys of Moon | https://soundcloud.com/keysofmoonAttribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0)https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/Music promoted by https://www.chosic.com/free-music/all/

  • The fear of the lord - Abraham
    Jul 14 2023
A few pearls to lead your reflection2 Timothy 3:16-17 (esv)16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.C.H. Spurgeon says the expression "fear of the Lord" is used in Scripture for all true godliness. It is constantly the short way of expressing real faith, hope, love, holiness of living, and every grace which makes up true godliness. There are key lessons we can learn from Abraham.
    1. He was a friend of God. (James 2:21-23).
We can see this when God was on his way to Sodom and Gommorah and questioned whether he should hide His plans from his frined. And the Lord said, "Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do;" (Genesis 18:17)Abraham became a friend of God because he had the fear of the Lord.Psalms 2512Who is the man who fears the LORD?He will instruct him in the path chosen for him.13His soul will dwell in prosperity, and his descendants will inherit the land.14The LORD confides in those who fear Him,and reveals His covenant to them.
    1. It takes faith. (Hevrews 11:1-3)
Abraham exercised faith in God that consisted of his obedience and trust in the Lord. Can you imagine giving away your most prized possession, knowing that it is highly likely you will not see it again? Isaac was going to die. He was reduced from being a blessing from God to his parents down to a scarifice, an aminal! can you imagine that? As a mom would you agree for your only child whom you received from the Lord just die as a sacrifice? A child that you birthed at an old age and knowing you have a womb that would not autimatically take in?Abraham did without hesitation. He simply said, "The Lord will provide." (Genesis 22:8)Its worth thinking that the sacrifice had already happened in the spirit realm. Think about it, by the time you are doing something, a decision was made in your mind, which means you ushered it in through your priesthood from your spiritual realm to earth.
    1. Build your capacity in faith through the Holy Spirit to receive the fear of the Lord. (Hebrews 11:6)
Fear of the lord is greater than a blessing. It takes you to realms where you shall walk with God because He trusts you. The blessings are a plus- riches , prosperity, wealth etc Think about it. You can be a friend of God
    1. Fear of the Lord will make you not ask question or question God but draw to Him. (James 4:8)
This gives you room to create the opening to encounter God from a mind of the unknown but with a spirit of conviction. Your conviction in Christ compels Him to reveal Himself to you birthing your encounter and the new name of God. Here it is, Yaweh Yireh. What name of God and encounter await you? Some key pointers from C. H SpurgeonThe fear of the Lord doesnt create bondage. Do not be afraid of God.The fear of the Lord is like that of a well-ordered, well-disciplined, beloved child has of his own father. Of awe, admiration, profound conviction that his father is good, kind, wise, and could not do anything, or ask him to do anything, which would not promote his own good.

  • The fear of the Lord
    Jun 20 2023
Do you have the fear of the Lord?Is it good fear or bad fear?Do you exercise it daily?Does it yield an evidence of the presence of God in your life? Is it evident for all to see?We seem to have our own perceptions about this fear of the Lord and make adjustments of it to suit our livingI have come to learn and hopefully you will as well that it is a set standard of God provided by the Holy Spirit. You either have it or you don't. There is no in-between as we often like to place the teenets of Christ. It comes from the Holy Spirit .It is supernatural. It is eternal. It is based on your revelation of the Lord.It goes hand in hand with wisdom, understanding, discipline and the knowledege of God.It yields mighty results of peace, longevity, prosperity, riches, blessings that are even transferred to your generation. It cancels the fear of men. Their opinion of YOU is no greater to God's opinion of YOU.It requires humility and obedience which arethe qualities of a student of the Holy Spirit. The best example of a man who exercised the fear of the Lord is Jesus Christ Himself while he dwelt on earth. Daniel also displays the fear of the Lord very well in the idolatrous sinful world, similar to what we are currently in.This kind of fear allows God to trust you and make a covenant with you. This is the key to becoming a friend of GodHaving this kind of fear makes you appreciate the price that Jesus Christ paid for your life and so you will make a very intentional decision to seek and live in righteiousness. You will make an effort to kill your flesh and inequities with the help of the Holy Spirit. All we have to do is obey the word of God which comes by listening, pray to seek insight and understanding and seek it through the word as it is hidden treasure that is a key to enjoying the blessings of the kingdom of heaven.Keys: obedience, prayer for insight, understanding and study of the Word of God.It is so important in your daily living, it sets you apart from those rooted in the world and transforms you to be more like Christ, the hope of Glory that lives inside of you.SelahFurther reading:Proverbs 1:7psalm 11:10Ecclesiastes 12:13Luke 1:50Proverbs 14:27Psalm 25:14God bless you have a great week of reflection.Maxine O.Music by: Ascension by Keys of Moon | https://soundcloud.com/keysofmoonMusic promoted by https://www.chosic.com/free-music/all/Creative Commons CC BY 4.0https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Magic Lights by Keys of Moon | https://soundcloud.com/keysofmoonMusic promoted by https://www.chosic.com/free-music/all/Creative Commons CC BY 4.0https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

  • Make time to dwell in the secret place
    Jun 13 2023

This is an episode that is all about prayer, praise and prophecy this month of June. I shall be highlighting some reflections that I heard while listening to Smith Wigglesworth's sermon on dwelling in the secret place and making time to receive food from God as a temple of the LordDaniel comes to mind when thinking of dwelling in the secret place in this place in current times where there is a clear hand of Satan in society, systems and the world. We are reminded to never conform to the world but to focus on Jesus, His blueprint and the Word. Tozer puts it so well in the pursuit of God, fix your gaze on God. Best way to do it is to make time and dwell in the secret place. Become God's man who He can depend on and have God hold you. Happy listeningScriptures to reflect onPsalm 91:1Revelations 3:21Daniel 1:8-17Malachi 3:8-121 Corinthians 3:161 Corinthians 6:19-20
