  • I grew up appreciating, listening, & learning from history, encouraged mostly by my mom's love & pushing of literature! When you travel the interstates, you might miss so many nuances of an area. Backroads may seem slower, but IMHO, they are often more relaxing, scenic, and usually always have hidden/unheard stories. Let's relax, listen, and enjoy the exploration of the off-the-beaten-path "backroads." She passed away in 2020, so in honor of her & the oral histories & knowledge I gained from her I'll be discussing some of her oral stories (both fond and negative/tragic). Excited to also hear about & learn from your families' &/or communities' oral histories, historic preservation goals, and the ever needed hands-on active social justice necessary in Public History practices.
