●支配、強制されて作り出されるつながりは、偽りのつながりである。このつながりは、人は本来的には他者とつながって生きているという意味の真のつながりとは別物である。
●相手を理解したい、理解しようとする。これが愛である。ただ一緒にいるだけでは、いい関係を築けない。互いを理解する努力が必要である。(中略）理解しようと努力しても、その理解が正しいかどうかがわからないのであれば、たずねるしかない。
●誰かを支配したり、依存したりすることなく、自分の完全性を保ったままで人と結びつくにはどうしたらいいか。「共鳴」（レゾナンス）という仕方であれば、他者に影響を与え、他者から影響を受ける。他者と共鳴することで、自分が変わることはある。
