Publisher's Summary

Everyone knows that the Tower of Alexis is impregnable...but Emily intends to prove them wrong.

The Kingdom of Zangaria has finally started its descent into civil war. King Randor has declared martial law, imprisoned the pregnant Crown Princess Alassa in the Tower of Alexis, and started preparations for a first strike against his enemies. The time has come for everyone to choose a side.

Emily has arrived in Alexis with the intention of freeing Alassa before her father can have her executed. But as Emily and her friends are drawn into a maelstrom of rebellious factions and crown loyalists and of commoners trying to escape the chaos and noblemen trying to make it worse, they find themselves faced with an insolvable problem.

If they manage to liberate Alassa - and put her on the throne - will there be anything left of Zangaria for her to rule?

this series isn't what it used to be

A lot of the same phrases and anecdotes from previous books about the commoners and nobles get reused. I keep hoping the main story will continue or Em and Co. will start setting up thier own power base. I feels like its stagnant. Em has not much in the way of char growth or story growth.

I skipped several chapters and didn't miss much

When I can skip multiple chapters and still not miss any of the plot, the book is at best a 3 start to me. Performance was very good and Nuttall is one of my favorite authors so I will be back to read the next in the series.

Another good book

I definitely enjoyed the book, the way the action and scenarios worked out was satisfying. I find that Christopher Nutall is able to write different stories that tackle new and different themes with this one being no different. So I imagine if you've made it this far you'll enjoy the book too. The ending was quite something.

She Keeps Making me Laugh!

This was a great book.
Love the series...Fan Here!😁

I love the way the main character thinks...these people all around here have outdated methods and ways of thinking & she is stuck in their world.
So she makes this new world around her more convenient and honestly a lot more hygienic from inventions and introduced ideas...hahaha!
The funny part is the people around her think she is crazy for thinking what she betrays as normal thoughts to you and me and shun her much needed inventions. thanks they try to make her bend her sound Morales by following their outdated ways.
Which eventually leads to Emily just telling them exactly how much of an ignorant asshole they have been all along...most of the time only after someone pisses her off to much, betraying her Sound Morales.
What an unexpected adventure this young woman has taken on. Great Read

Princess in the Tower

Well, I enjoyed this installment.
Well written, and Gilbert did as good a job as usual.

I had doubts about this book, and put off getting it as it kind of seemed like a backslide of Emily’s story, however, while I hope to get away from the goody two shoes Emily, and on to the powerhouse version Void would make her, I do have to say the book was good and didn’t disappoint.

And well, now that was an ending. A cliffhanger of massive proportions maybe a bit, but well, yeah, kind of made the thing worth it.

I also agree with Nuttall’s apparent want to darken Emily more slowly, like how she has used forbidden magic’s, because she “had to”, and is becoming someone who understands the need to kill, even while fighting for her inner idealism to remain.

I’ll have to wait a while for the next book, but I’m looking forward to it.

Beware this is not in the usual format

The first half of the book is the complete novel , the second half is just a recap of the first adding bits missed out, this makes it only about 7hrs not the stated length.

The narrator is the usual one which I suggest you slow down to 0.75 speed as she's unlistenable at full speed.
