Publisher's Summary

The Beginning After the End: Publisher's Pack contains books 1 and 2 of The Beginning After the End series.

Early Years, book one:

I never believed in the whole “light at the end of the tunnel” folly where people, after having a near-death experience, would startle awake in a cold sweat exclaiming, “I saw the light!” But there I was, in this so-called “tunnel” facing a glaring light, when the last thing I remembered was sleeping in my room - the royal bed-chamber, as others called it. Had I died? If so, how?

King Grey once benefited from unrivaled strength, wealth, and prestige in a world governed by martial ability but now finds himself reborn in a society dominated by magic. Given a second chance at life, the once-king strives to understand his role in this new world and the purpose of his reincarnation while correcting the mistakes of his past.

New Heights, book two:

I had a family now, I had people who loved me. It was a feeling I never wanted to give up. I’d treasure it, fight for it if I had to...and for that, I needed to better myself. More so even than when I had been a king.

Given a second chance at life, Arthur Leywin wishes above all to grow strong enough to protect his family, as the memory of his cold and disconnected past life as King Grey still haunts him. To this end, Arthur adopts the persona of the masked adventurer, Note, and delves into the dungeons under the forbidding Beast Glades. On his adventures, Arthur discovers a strange magical blade that responds to the dragon’s will inside him, befriends a powerful young conjurer whose past is shrouded in mystery, and battles the deadly Elderwood Guardian. Yet all his efforts might prove for naught when Arthur makes an enemy of a talented conjurer from a very powerful family, putting his very future at risk.

A continual build up of power.

boring same old op faceslapping mc that gets whatever they want handed to them with impressive backstory's and unimpressive personalities.

The dungeon part was good but it was weighed down by jampacking the kids first 12 years with more power ups and mcguffins than a season of dbz. I also dislike how alot of story development is just sacrificed for more power ups.

It remains to be seen what the mc will do with all his advantages other than the normal targeting people that steal his thunder.

There is not much to talk about since its just 1 power up after another, with him being a literal kid yet picking and choosing what a kid can do.

Great story

I love it as a webcomic and I love listening to it both are great and can't wait to listen to it more. I just wish I they would have added the extra things they had on the webcomic to this but still a great listen.

Fantastic story

I read this series before I tried the audiobooks. They are a quality exciting series. However I find this narrator boring and dry, even if he does voices well, every series I try with him narrating I never get through. It's a shame really, as he gets chosen for some really incredible books.

An easy and excellent read. Couldn’t put down.

Essentially got on to this series from Mushoku Tensei, which comes off like a badly plagiarised and way more perverted version of this. If you’ve watched that anime and enjoyed it, you’ll love this! (It’s also much better written)

Very easy to listen to, but so compelling and engrossing. Impossible to put down at times. I couldn’t recommended enough!

Anime, manga, manhwa fans of isekai and low fantasy (?) will really love this series. If they ever animate this well it might become one of the best animes!

Creepy as all hell

Travis did the best he could voicing this one but even he seemed uncomfortable. Classic power fantasy, not so bad in that regard but it also tries to begin a romance between a child and a 30 year old man. It drops the "mature for their age" line so many times I lost count. While initially promising, this book and it's sequel turned out to be an aggressively uncomfortable experience and I sincerely question the moral character of the author. Came for Travis Baldree, left because of the grooming.
