Number One

There is a shortcoming in the scientific community, where having dissenting opinions from the majority is not welcomed or considered warranted.

Number Two

Going against assumptions of medicine would be discrediting millions of doctors and researchers. So instead of acknowledging that our treatments for illnesses such as obesity and Type II diabetes are far from perfect, we continue treating patients as is.
