Loved it. Now I want to re listen to the original stories involving Thrawn and this time cheer FOR him! Excellent characters, story moved enough even when flash backs were needed to provide back story.

I loved listening to this story. I have binged through the Thrawn audiobooks over the last few weeks, and he has quickly become one of my favourite SW characters. This book, which details his origin story is another well developed story. And Marc Thompson hits it out of the park with his narration. The voices and accents he uses are top notch, I'm looking forward to diving into Book 2.

As always, an excellent book from Marc Thompson. I anxiously await the next book. The story being read by Timothy Zahn always provides a believable Thrawn voice as well as many other characters along the way.

I honestly can't praise Timothy Zahn enough for the world he has created within the Star Wars universe.

This book went into far more detail about Chiss politics than I ever thought I'd need to know and yet it was fascinating the whole way through.

And let's not forget Marc Thompson's performance... unparalleled. With such detailed voice acting you become so invested in every characters path, even the minor characters. His performance lends a richness to the story and a real depth to the stakes that you can really hear in each characters voice.

Bravo. I really hope we get to see a movie or TV series adaptation of these books in future. Truely awesome.

Timothy Zahn does it again! Can't stop listening to this book. Very captivating from start to finish. Zahn also does a marvelous job of fleshing out the Chiss Ascendancy and the Chaos. Very original yet very Star Wars at the same time. A perfect addition to Star Wars canon.
