Publisher's Summary

From Christian libertarian farmer Joel Salatin, a clarion call to listeners to honor the animals and the land and to produce food based on spiritual principles.

Joel Salatin is perhaps the nation's best known farmer, whose environmentally friendly, sustainable Polyface Farms has been featured in Food, Inc. and Time magazine. Now, in his first audiobook written for a faith audience, Salatin offers a deeply personal argument for earth stewardship and calls for fellow Christians to join him in looking to the Bible for a foodscape in line with spiritual truth. Salatin urges Christians to rethink America's allegiance to cheap corporate food that destroys creation in its production, impoverishes third world countries, and supports oligarchical interests. He wonders why Christians ignore and even revel in unhealthy eating habits and factory farming that runs counter to God's design. With scripture and biblical stories, Salatin presents an alternative and shows listeners that in appreciating the pigness of pigs, we celebrate the glory of God.

    "Well done Mr Salatin."

Joel shares his revelations about biblical principles and their deep correlation with a functional food system. Joel seeks to bridge the gap between the left and the right, the christian and the secular, and unite them behind a common goal of instituting regenerative practices on a culture altering scale. Joel achieves this while maintaining his integrity as a follower of Christ. This is a very well done author narrated audiobook and shows the broad skill set Joel has developed.

I had never thought about God's stewardship in this way. Joel makes a lot of sense. I will be thinking about this when I make food choices.

    "Nail on the Head"

Just like the author stated at the beginning, this book was definitely a breath of fresh air. I have been touching on these subjects for the past few years behind our pulpit, and will continue to do so. Most importantly, I pray for strength to be a doer and not just a hearer. I have agreed with and admired Joel's farming practices for years and hope to implement them on a much smaller scale on my property.

    "Great book"

Very interesting, out of the ordinary, perspective. A good blend of fact, analysis and making it a very pallatable and easy to understand his thought processes.
The question, "Is nature more biological or more mechanical?" stood out to me the most on my first time through Rhett book.
Go ahead, read (listen to) it. Let your biases be challenged.
Really, does God care how we take care of His resources (creation)? Does it really matter?

This was totally worth the time. We purchased the paper copy as well. Convicting, encouraging, informative, and many more positive adjectives could be used. This is a MUST-READ

"A different perspective - and it makes sense!"

As believers in Christ and in health - this book was a hit for me. Learning how nature is an object lesson for the gospel was eye opening, and, after learning about it, an obvious observation I hope never to forget.

Joel does a great job narrating also. I love it when authors narrate their own books, as you can hear their emphasis where they want it.

I'd put this on my "listen to at least once per year" list. However, I'd like to listen again right away with this new book. Way too much information to absorb in one listen!

    Thanks Polyface and Farmer Salatin

A great book of at times hard question but wrote from love. I will have to buy this in paper format to share with key people in my faith community and to donate to local library. What a game changing read. Thank you
