Publisher's Summary

Golden Son continues the stunning saga of Darrow, a rebel forged by tragedy, battling to lead his oppressed people to freedom from the overlords of a brutal, elitist future built on lies.

Now fully embedded amongst the Gold ruling class, Darrow continues his work to bring down society from within. It's a journey that will take him further than he's ever been before, but is Darrow truly willing to pay the price that rebellion demands?

Dax au Telemanus!

I loved Red Rising, so this book had big shoes to fill. It suffered a little from middle book syndrome, too many characters and the none-inclusion of the institute, but overall a very good book. It's no red rising, but we'll see if Morning Star can take up the mantle. Ps the Telemanus family are the best.

Good as the first one

I’m always nervous about a second book, I had no need to be for this one. It got a bit war-focused at times but generally great plot and story telling style. The narration was brilliant too.

Incredible. 100% a must read if you enjoyed red rising. The scope of this universe is dramatically increased in such a rich and fulfilling way that you truly get immersed in the politics of war. Fantastic narration, incredibly complex yet easy to consume relationships and characters. Dramatic ending. Yet another near perfect book from Pierce Brown... Onto the next!

My favourite book brought to life

Any additional comments?

Golden Son is my favourite book. The world of Red Rising has been established, we know what the stakes are, and we're ready to be thrown back into Darrow's journey. Tim Gerard Reynolds perfectly navigates you through the violence, the war, the intelligence, the lies, the betrayals, the love and the friendships, and the excitement. I highly recommend this audiobook, especially if you already have read the books.

Just as good as Bk 1.

Our hero adjusts to life amongst the Golds...Or Gods to some of the lesser colours. All the ups and downs of the first book are still there with continued similarities of a Greek Tragedy or corrupt Roman Empire waiting to be brought down from inside. Lots of fighting and not just the space gun kind nicely breaks up some of the politics romance and bromance. 5 stars :)

fantastic start, exceptional ending

...but suffered slightly in the middle due to the scope of the story and amount of characters.

All in all a great listen and am moving straight on to the next book in the trilogy.
