Publisher's Summary
#1 New York Times bestselling author Brandon Sanderson expands his Cosmere universe shared by The Stormlight Archive and Mistborn with a new standalone novel for everyone who loved The Princess Bride. Narrated by Michael Kramer.
The only life Tress has known on her island home in an emerald-green ocean has been a simple one, with the simple pleasures of collecting cups brought by sailors from faraway lands and listening to stories told by her friend Charlie. But when his father takes him on a voyage to find a bride and disaster strikes, Tress must stow away on a ship and seek the Sorceress of the deadly Midnight Sea. Amid the spore oceans where pirates abound, can Tress leave her simple life behind and make her own place sailing a sea where a single drop of water can mean instant death?
Note from Brandon:
I started writing this in secret, as a novel just for my wife. She urged me to share it with the world—and alongside three other secret novels, with the support of readers worldwide it grew into the biggest Kickstarter campaign of all time. I’m excited to present this first book to you at last: a different type of Brandon Sanderson story, one I wrote when there were no time constraints, no expectations, and no limits on my imagination. Come be part of the magic.

Lovely addition to the Cosmere.
Some of Hoids whimsy almost gives Douglas Adam’s vibes which is just excellent. Feels quite suitable for YA without being irritating and sometimes it’s nice to have a break from the dark & gritty. Well worth a listen, excellent narration as usual.

Playful fun
I really like Sanderson as an author and have read moat of his books, this one however is probably my favourite, the playfulness of the language and storyline was clever and fun. You could tell he really enjoyed writing this one and it shines through.. Well done.

Wow, just wow!
What an incredible ride! Yet another example of creativity off the scale from Brandon. Couldn't stop listening to the whole back half of this. This is in part due to brilliant narration by Michael, yet again.

Surprising
As per my title, I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. To the point were a little gap was left in my life when I had finished it. It was a joy to read and lively to see a little positivity in the storytellers of our world. Thank you Brandon

Short and Sweet
Another great story by Brandon and voice acting by Michael. My only real complaint is that the story left me wanting more. After reading some of his longer stories it's hard to feel satiated with the shorter content. If you like his other cosmere stories this is definitely worth a listen.
