I'm impressed, really impressed

first time I've listened to a male author...suprise, suprise.. its just never appealed to me.
I was attracted to the dust jacket right on the heels of finishing a delta team novel.
and as I like more action than romance this looked perfect.
boy was I right!
Mr Buchman I could easily mistake for ex military. his attention to detail is astounding. everything from weaponry to yachts to geography. it was fantastically impressive. it added to an amazing developing plotline, well rounded, well paced with plenty of suspense.
Mr Buchman added intermittent romance with H and h via introspection. he added a bit of steam which was not as raunchy as some authors in this genre, but it was integral enough to string the romance together.
the twists and clever thinking that was executed in the storyline was exciting and I laughed at the dry wit that the characters bandied about.
the h was strong, sassy and broken and unlike other romances it imprints itself between the delta's black ops mission. the H is very alpha but his mind is what added to my appeal.
the revelation the h discovers is about the only obvious part of the novel. however, it is a romance so that's to be expected.
a really well written book. that develops the characters beautifully and sets up the delta team for future books.
