Publisher's Summary

Gotrek and Felix Audiobook 4.

A journey back to civilisation is interrupted when Gotrek, Felix and their companions encounter a creature of myth – a legendary dragon! Caught between that flying rock and the hard place of an army of orcs, things look bleak....

Listen to it because

It's Gotrek and Felix vs a dragon, in one of the series most widely acclaimed entries. A dangerous race against time, multiple enemies and uneasy allies make this a true classic.

The story

Gotrek and Felix: unsung heroes of the Empire, or nothing more than common thieves and murderers? The truth perhaps lies somewhere in between, and depends entirely upon whom you ask.

Gotrek and Felix head back towards the Empire aboard the arcane dwarf airship Spirit of Grungni. Tired and wounded from their adventures in the Chaos Wastes, the intrepid duo look forward to seeing friendly lands once more. But darker forces are at work and when a violent storm blows them into the Worlds Edge Mountains they disturb a deadly creature of legend which guards a vast golden hoard. With an army of rampaging orcs behind and a wrathful dragon ahead, things look bleak for Gotrek and Felix!

Excellent.

A brilliant story and a great narrator, some of the best characters created for a fantasy series.

Fun continues but not the best volume

This volume has all the stuff you expect from the author: cracking adventure, humour and lots of action. But..
It’s very much a villa volume to build for the big events in the next couple of volumes. So while it’s fun it’s not the best & feels a bit rushed and formulaic (of course it’s a WFB novel!). The series is excellent bubble gum with fantastic characters set in a darkish fantasy universe. So recommend starting with vol 1 not this one.
The narration is fantastic and production far superior then many other fantasy literature about.
Enjoy

the tale continues.

Jonathan Keeble is a very good narrator, able to make the characters come alive, as well as feel separate. I don't think it is Jonathan Keeble, I think it is Gotrek or Snorri.

I am enjoying William Kings novels.
I definitely prefer the earlier half of the book. the introduction of the dragon felt epic, and Thankuol confronting the hoard of chaos by himself was awesome.

the only disappointment I had, was Felix and Ulrica.
but I'll leave that decision to whether it's worth having in there up to you guys.

but I can safely say. I'm keen for the next one.

Another amazing tale

This was a great book and the narration, as per all of this series, was superb. Amazing writing and story arc continuing on the dwarven tale was very well done. Recommended!

Oldhammer at it’s amazing best…

I wish I could erase my memory so I could read these again for the first time. I loved them over 20 years ago, and still do now.
The only sad part is that it reminds you of the travesty they committed when they created Age of Sigmar 😭
