Wondeful

What made the experience of listening to A Boy Called Christmas the most enjoyable?

My daughter and I loved this book. We had listened to the 2nd book The Girl Who Saved Christmas first, without realising they came in order. It didn't spoil this book for us though as they are truly wonderful books.
Stephen Fry is the perfect Narrator for this book.

What other book might you compare A Boy Called Christmas to, and why?

I can't think of a book to compare to, but I can compare authors. In my opinion I would say Neil Gaiman and Matt Haig have similar quality to their writing which so many children's books do not have.

Have you listened to any of Stephen Fry’s other performances? How does this one compare?

Yes, and he's amazing.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Nicholas saw a side to his papa he never believed to be possible.

This book is full of excitement, giving hope and a smile to those who listen. Such a great book for the children to listen to at night time with a parent or grandparent over nights leading up to Christmas.

Father Christmas 🎅 for the win!

Engaging and a beautifully written Christmas Story. I read this to my Grade 3 class and the whole class love the book! We paired this off with the new released movie- as there are quiet a lot of contrasts between the two. Definitely worth reading to your children. 😊

Not Haig’s usual high standard.

I’m a big fan of Matt Haig’s writing but this is far from his best. A nothing story with a great performance still only averages out to a ‘meh’.
