About this listen

Reborn on Gryndor with the mythical trait [Divine Witness], Ajax swears to live a life of no regrets. This time, he will seize every opportunity, fight every monster, and plunder every treasure as he enjoys life to the fullest.

If only it were that easy. Humans are considered one of the weakest sentient races, confined to their patch of land but that hasn't changed their nature as they fight amongst themselves forced to split their sources of power instead of unite for the greater whole. In order to see the entire vast richness of the world, Ajax must battle for his life and respect, gaining levels and forcing the other races to acknowledge his and humanities worth.

Ajax’s Ascension to the top won’t be quick or easy.

Multiple mistakes with first person and third person telling. Gender mistakes with characters and the narrators are average at best. Male narrator sounds like the chosen from Smosh, look it up its hilarious. The female narrator has more pauses in between words that it makes her section of narration drag on. It's also poorly adapted to audio with very big chunks like 5-8 minutes worth of stat dumps, with multiple instances of repeated stat dumps with minimal changes bit still gets told the whole stat sheet, to just be told afterwards about the changes made like we didn't just listen to 15 minutes of stat's.

Mistakes from the book version carry over....

Great story overall, they jammed plenty of action and progress for the characters into a relatively short book.

male voice acting was great, some were a little similar but overall really good, femal voice actors was very robotic, wonder if it was even computer or ai generates voice over at times it was so bad, voice sounded nice and different female character were easily distinguished but there were paused between every word or two and its quite jarring, especially after hearing some really great VA on other books.

Great story, voice actors hit and miss

Surprisingly good, finished the book in a few days. I've read a few hundred books in the genre and this is definitely one of the better ones for me. Highly recommend and can't wait for the next one :)

Realy good

I read a lot of books in this genre, this one is good.

Summery: Died in the real world, took advantage of restarting as a baby with a stat screen, becomes quite strong for his age. Likeable MC, and supporting cast, doesn't act out of character for the sake of the story (a mark of good writing if you ever read this).

Should you read this? Yes.

There are some rough around the edges bits, I'd say all to do with inexperience, but nothing that stopped me from enjoying the book.

The status: Audio and books are very different here, maybe give us a full status updates beginning middle and end, especially since this one takes 10 minutes. Feel free to do the change log, but the whole this is rough.

The change of perspective: I like this, but if you want to do this, then add Ajack's Perspective if it's from his perspective, or Kate's perspective etc. at the start of the chapter.

The Audio: The female voices are feminine, endearing and gently, suprisingly strong when it comes to inflection. But they are very slow, and there is a pause between each word. Your 90% of the way there, I hope you push through that last 10%. The male voices are good, but it's hard to tell when the perspective changes.

Looking forward to the next one.

A Great Start To A Series

I enjoyed the first book and it kept my interest all the way through. it has hinted at where it is probably going which will be a disappointment if it ends up with the MC spending a few books in a magic academy. I have bought book 2 so will let you know.

Interesting MC with a good supporting characters

the story was great, the male narration was great as well but is some thing wrong with the female narrator? sounds like she is constipated and struggles to speak properly...

weird pronouncements and pauses in her speech.

a bit confused 😕

Story is decent - lazy guy is isekai'd to another world and we follow his life from baby to adult. The early parts where he's learning to walk weren't 100% my cup of tea, but I can appreciate the unique angle.

Unfortunately, as other readers have mentioned, both the kindle and audio versions of this are terribly edited (even for the genre, which can often be fast and loose with this sort of thing).

The author treats tense like a toy to be played with, and both narrators almost obstinately read exactly what is written. It's so bad it affected my enjoyment. There's no way I'm going to pick up book two, even though the story was decent.

Terrible editing make this a hard listen

This is definatly a read only book. The male narrator is half decent but the female narrator speaks in that breathy half whisper mostly used in the audio adaptations of trashy romance novels. You know the ones, Train station books with shirtless dudes on the cover.

Its not a good narration style for a dragon telling ancient history. The MC isnt an archaeologist so i doubt she's gonna get him hard whispering into his ear about 500k years ago.

None of her parts were in the sample and thats a mistake. The sample should showcase all narrators if theres more than one.

The storys not bad. Its the narration that tanks it. Read it instead

Whats that? Speak up I cant hear you!
