  • Summary

  • After the Fall is a gripping, behind the scenes account of the FBI’s investigation into the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Agents tell how they responded to the crime scenes, uncovered evidence of the “planes operation,” and traveled overseas to investigate leads.

9/11 was the biggest case in FBI history. The bureau’s investigation greatly influenced the War in Afghanistan, led to a rift with the CIA over the use of torture to gather intelligence, and generated thousands of boxes of evidence for the prosecution of terrorism suspects in U.S. courts.

This sweeping true story takes listeners inside the investigation as it unfolds. Agents describe responding to the crime scenes in lower Manhattan, Shanksville, and the Pentagon; working from a makeshift base in a Manhattan parking garage; sorting debris for clues at Fresh Kills landfill on Staten Island; following leads from the U.S. Embassies in Sana’a, Yemen and Islamabad, Pakistan; and working the case at FBI headquarters and the White House.

After the Fall is dedicated to the many victims of the 9/11 attacks, including first responders who suffered from cancer and other illnesses because of their work.

Excellent Production. Great Story

One of the best productions I have listened to this far on Audible. To call it a podcast is rather underselling it. A confronting yet fascinating inside look on the events prior to and post 9/11. Highly recommend.
