Marian L. Jasper was born in Hertfordshire in the UK. For many years she worked in the publishing industry, eventually owning five newspapers in her local area. On the sale of the company she moved to Jersey in the Channel Islands and for a few years she and her husband, Paul, ran a small telecommunications company which successfully covered all of the Channel Islands. More recently she and her husband moved to Western Australia where she now has the time to indulge in her love of writing and the research that it entails. So far she has written and published six books following the adventures of Liza Marchant, a Victorian woman who was ahead of her time, but in the pipeline, Marian has many more books following Liza's life, with the seventh currently being prepared for publication. She now has less time for hobbies, although she feels that writing is more enjoyable than any other hobby, but she still manages the odd crossword, and finds it difficult to ignore any puzzle that catches her attention. Marian has the gift of green fingers and is now enjoying the challenges that gardening in Australia throws at her.
