The Whims of Gods

After quitting her job as a therapist, Tess's life became pretty slow. A tad boring, even. It thus came as no small shock to her when she was chosen by a god. Suddenly thrust into a new world where magic, monsters, and character levels are par for the course, Tess will find that simply surviving can be a challenge. It doesn't help that dark forces are stirring, she's woefully underpowered, and spiders keep trying to claw her face off.

The threat of dark gods has passed. The forest is safe. The deadlands have stopped expanding. Now, all Tess really wants is a vacation. Unfortunately for her, fate has other plans. Quickly discovering that she's in far more danger than she ever knew, Tess will have to train, level up, and protect herself at all costs. So when an unexpected benefactor shows up with an unlikely solution to her problems, how can she refuse? Follow Tess as she battles monsters, explores new cities, delves into dungeons, and builds up her settlement, all while meeting a strange new cast of characters along the way.

Wrathful kings. Dark gods. Conniving guards. None of them will keep Tess from what little normalcy she's managed to find. After being thrust into a foreign city under a false identity, things are finally starting to settle down for Tess. Now, her biggest concerns are celebrating her birthday and making it through her second semester of classes. Of course, not everything can be so peaceful. Between her days of idle crafting and building up her settlement, Tess is put through brutal training and forced to battle her way through vicious dungeons.

Broken. Trapped. Surrounded by vicious monsters. After a failed dungeon run leaves Tess nearly comatose, her only hope is to travel far away to seek healing. But when a teleportation ritual goes awry, she'll quickly find herself stuck in a strange and chaotic land, penned in by treacherous traps and brutal beasts. Accompanied by only two of her closest friends, Tess will have to rise to the occasion and fight her way out. All the while, with her mind still in tatters, as she finds a path to freedom, she'll also have to find herself.
