This is one of those titles that you'll either love or hate due to the main character and use of humor. Regarding the MC Drake, everything is a joke with him and for me personally, most of them don't really land. A lot of pop culture references are used throughout. When combined with the humor, the MCs Anime/Weeby personality, it can be a bit much.

I would like to mention that the narrators "Christopher Boucher and Jessica Threet" are fantastic.

The voice acting is top notch!

The story is much like the primal hunter but still different and unique. The MC is a non idiot. The voice acting is great.

Great Characters and Great Voice acting

If you like Primal Hunter but you wanted the MC with way more weeb charisma? Then this is your book with alot of references and hilarious moments and dosen't shy away from adult grit then definitely give this book a try takes alittle to get going but the main guy is both hilarious and realistic which he feels more human then primal hunter's main character given the circumstances. Chris and Jess do another fantastic job. They just put so much heart and soul in what they do best and you can tell they had a blast doing this.

Primal Hunter but comical.

the only thing I really disliked about this book was that I found myself always having to turn the volume up and down then having to go back because I couldn't hear what they said with how quiet the the characters got when whispering or talking all while another was (for lack of a better word and it is bearable but just the suddenness of it) screeching or yelling in the same conversation, voice acting, how is written and how the conversation is portrayed is great its just the shear difference in volume from normal conversation then sudden yelling and then down to a whisper under the characters breathand back up again. other then that everything else was great from start to finish tho, highly recommend for any fan of this genre!!

highly recommend!!! just be ready with the volume control..

just copying another review here because I agree with it. Volume changes and shouting in the narration is annoying and kinda ruining the book so far

the narrator annoying

Just stats and mechanic dumps. The story is barely there and the author is trying way too hard to make the MC quirky and fun.

Stats over Story

I was told this was a primal hunter type litrpg. It is not. it lacks likeable characters and the humour is both forced and needlessly loud. The MC is melodramatic and the narrator does a overly good job at making this a near impossible listen with the constant screaming by multiple characters which seems to be what passes for humour by the author.

edit: I tried to finish this but it got so bad I just couldn't. The MC is the epitome of falling ass backwards into success. Also, pop references for the sake of references is crazy.

Loud, Overplayed and Forced Comedy

1. Reviews that compare this to The Primal Hunter are wrong, just because this book has taken elements from that series and used them don't make them similar. The MC has the opposite personality and mentality than that of Jake, this book compensations bad story flow and cohesion with references and cringe worthy jokes to anime and games.

2. He's supposed to be 26 yet acts like a 12 year old boy who hasn't experienced life at all until a self imposed obstacle or hard fight is happening. The little bits of back story and trauma he's experienced only come when he's having to fight for his life or justify why he's chosen to do the most idiotic thing. His pride and arrogance which is a constant throughout the book is his biggest liability, even when he knows about it, gets scolded and berated about it constantly. It wouldnt be an issue if it wasn't repeated so much and having to listen to the same old stuff over and over.

3. The narrators honestly are the best duo in this industry and they helped me finish this book, it was honestly such a great performance by them.

Frustration and disappointment
