About this listen

Follow an unfortunate soul who has been thrown into a fantasy world with nothing. He is quickly railroaded into joining the Legion and has to develop under harsh conditions while slowly discovering his potential power.

This story has light LitRPG elements with a stat and magic advancement system. The MC is not overpowered and experiences the pain of growth as he tries to find a place in the strange new world while staying alive. Neither are coming easy to him as his Legion Company is constantly in harm's way.

I loved this book, the next one is even better, and here's the But. The narrator changes in the third book, and that's a very hard sell for me. I'm sticking to it, because I think it's worth it. But had I known at the start, I probably wouldn't have started the series.

I really appreciate the light litrpg elements. The humour is either subtle or hits you like a brick.
The scenes flow quickly and effortlessly.
The narration is a pleasure to listen to.

the narration was great story was action packed I like that the MC isn't overpowered or a complete imbecile it was a good middle ground and im keen for the next instalment

I was really resistant to the recommendation for this book by eventually,I ran out of things to listen to and decided to give it a go.
Good decision.
Well written and paced just right imo. Not drowning in stats. Slow character growth, which is a pleasant change for me. I'm looking forward to the next one.

This illustrates the fact that a gamer ain't necessarily an author. As well as leveling up the introduction of some minor things, like a plot, or character development would have.made it more enjoyable. As far as I can tell the protagonist distinguishes himself by his lies and duplicity and running into cardboard cutouts of monsters. And stealing the use of mithril for this third rate pulp should have Tolkien spinning
in his grave. I regret spending a credit on it.

I like the idea and there is some things i like about the book, but its a tough listen on audio. I DNF after 2 ish hours because it was like 50/50 story and reading of stats. I might give the book a second try on kindle.

I do enjoy this story, it's one of the better stories out their in this genre.

one massive negative for me, the author decides to change narrators on book 3. I'm leaving a review here on book one as wish some one else did this for me. I find it incredibly jarring when a author decides to do this, I get it's not always up to them how ever, if I new this was going to happen I probably would if just read this My self and deal with the change of narrators
